When I was little I found a solid perfume bar and it looked like lip balm so I out it in my lips.. My lips got so tight! And I could taste the floral smell and it also tasted chemically. :( Then I read the label and yeah..
Omg I tried this I mixed a little bit of peppermint oil and a little bit of lavender oil and it came out like a REALLY fresh floral scent IT IS AMAZING
There are IFRA Maximum Skin Exposure Levels for each Essential Oil and Fragrance Oil out there so that skin won't get irritated or injured. Just doing a "Sniff test" doesn't cut it as far as safety is concerned, especially if you'll be selling your products. The base of your product can only accept a certain percent of essential or fragrance oil as well in order to be able to function as the product that your trying to create. Look up product recipes, research fragrance levels, and buy from reputable supply companies.
Fallon Moore it also helps if you dont just add your glass straight into already hot boiling water. it should heat up with the water so they are both at the same temp. i use glass only as well because ive heard(dont know for sure) that bowls made with certain metals can be toxic to heat ingredients in because the metals can be infused into whatever youre heating. im not 100% sure. just something i was told thru my life. suppose i will do some research after this.lol
I always use a glass bowl and never had a problem. Maybe it's because I put the glass bowl in before the water gets too hot so it's more gradual. Also, it's a very durable glass usually Mason jar type of thing.
@@MoJo01 pyrex would still shatter if its under extreme stress, causing thermal shock due to change of temperature. pyrex isnt what it used to be, they replaced borosilicate with soda-lime to cut the cost.
Great idea!! Although, I could see myself mixing up scents thinking they'd go together and really, they'd smell horrible hahaha. I really want to try this!!
a tip is if your using lavender not to use the type of lavender called Lavendula Augustifolia as its toxic to pregnant and breastfeeding mums, Children under 6yrs and the elderly - there bodies cant process the potent oil out of their bodies (see online at foundations of Aromatherapy) Also those on Antidepressants can't use Grapefruit Oil or any fragrance with thos in it as it counteracts with the serotonin levels in the brain. I'm an Aromatherapist and Enrolled Nurse.. I see alot of people on UA-cam videos using lavender but don't mention this Important tip. iv owned my home based business now for 4yrs on facebook called Chillaxing Melts, Candles & Body Products I'm based in Australia but ship worldwide :)
U didn't say how many drops of EO or beeswax we should be using!!! I don't understand how come u took a lot of likes for this video.... I am not trying to be mean but seriously!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Basic rules: 40% Beeswax ,40% butter ( I prefer coconut ) , and 20% EO ( you can increase up to 30%,, but reduce from the 40% ,, the total must be 100%) good luck
can you add color and what would you recommend using? I've looked at the mica powders and liquids for makeup but not sure if these would work. they use them on soap so I figured it would be safe. I just don't want it to rub off and get colored skin.
I think it should work just fine bc that's what I plan on using in the very near to immediate future. But I'm going to use an EDP bc the more you stay away from using an EDT and/or EDT based fragrance, the less alcohol they contain. Good Luck ~ Be Blessed !!!
I'm having trouble finding the ingredients for the cream perfume especially the soy wax and bees wax that is commonly used in making cream perfume. Is candle wax can be also used in making cream perfume? Can I melt the candle and use it in making cream perfume? How is it? Please help
I didn't do yet, but I will going to do them. I think this is one of the best ideas because it don't have any chemicals.... From essential oils...You should use 1 bottom 1 middle and 1 top note. The bottom note will stay on your skin longer. What I suggest check your favorite perfume's ingredients and after you know go to a store to smell them, than you can choose what you like.
As long as you dont leave it in your hot car or something like that you should be okay. Every day running around shouldnt make it hot enough to melt. If you're unsure though, just use a container that seals tightly.
+Zoe1223 no because coconut oil isn't as solid as beezwax, and will melt much quicker, as well as producing a stronger smell than the actual scent of the perfume.
Coco None i wouldn't. unless you knew what all is in it. most waxes are totally fine, but some candles have ingredients that arent meant for topical applications.
I did this once and I put it in an empty chapstick container. so you apply it like you would chapstick, but on your wrist or neck!
That's a brilliant idea! But I'd probably forget and accidentally put it on my lips.
such a great idea!
this is the best idea ever thanks!

This could be a great idea to put in my old EOS lip balm containers. That way I can just rub it on. I think I will try this. Thanks
I use glass jars when I use a double boiler to make lip balms,I've never had any problems,It might just depend on who you get the containers from

This may be a stupid question but can you do this with your perfume instead of essential oils?
I doubt that. But if you have a perfume oil version of your favourite perfume, you can use that.
i love how you put the solid perfume in the heart locket. that's so smart
You can actually use a glass bowl, as long as the hot water doesn't touch the bowl
True, but I'd rather everyone be safe than sorry!
Yes thats true
I always use a glass bowl and never had a problem. Maybe it's because I put the glass bowl in before the water gets too hot so it's more gradual. Also, it's a very durable glass usually Mason jar type of thing.
There are glass bowl made to withstand heat you know, Pyrex! Did you hear of it?
@@MoJo01 pyrex would still shatter if its under extreme stress, causing thermal shock due to change of temperature. pyrex isnt what it used to be, they replaced borosilicate with soda-lime to cut the cost.
definitely want to try this, been looking for a perfume for ages now and havent found one that suited me, now i can make my own!
Glass bowls don't shatter unless you shock it with a vastly difference in temperature
I've been using the same glass bowl for like 3 years if ur glass bowl is a good quality one it's not shattering
Lavender rose and vanilla these r literally the only essential oils I have lol
So if you don't add the beeswax you basically have normal perfume? And the beeswax is only for making it solid?
yes
Great idea!! Although, I could see myself mixing up scents thinking they'd go together and really, they'd smell horrible hahaha. I really want to try this!!
u can buy a liquid perfume u like and use that instead of making one urself
could you use perfume instead of essential oil if your friend has a favorite scent?
Julie Doonan perfume tends to evaporate

im planning on making perfume that smells like old books. so wood, grass, and vanilla.
Plz share after making Vanila perfume
why wont you use an eos lip balm and make the solid perfume in the empty eos container that way you don't have to use ur fingers?
+GLITERTASTIC oh that's brilliant. I was debating a chapstick tube as well.
How long does the perfume scent last once it is applied to the skin?
Its longger scent than spray perfumes
Thank you!...I will have a blast making all kinds of fragrances. Great video!

she said it depends on the size of your container...
Basic rules: 40% Beeswax ,40% butter ( I prefer coconut ) , and 20% EO ( you can increase up to 30%,, but reduce from the 40% ,, the total must be 100%) good luck

Vanilla, citrus scents -- you can look up how to mix scents and that will give you some direction!
could we use an actual perfume or would it not work because they are alcohol based???
I think it should work just fine bc that's what I plan on using in the very near to immediate future. But I'm going to use an EDP bc the more you stay away from using an EDT and/or EDT based fragrance, the less alcohol they contain. Good Luck ~ Be Blessed !!!

As long as you dont leave it in your hot car or something like that you should be okay. Every day running around shouldnt make it hot enough to melt. If you're unsure though, just use a container that seals tightly.
Sara is right. The beeswax should be able to keep it as a solid as long as possible.

I've heard coconut oil is an alternative, but I worry that it won't solidify completely.
I don't think coconut oil would be a good idea. I've got a jar of coconut oil and in the summer it completely melts and becomes complete liquid
