I've come across this tribute by chance having just watched the doco on the Waterford base with Dara and '117' and first I must congratulate you on a very fitting tribute to the crew lost 🙏🙏 I'm here in NZ 🇳🇿 but it doesn't matter where we are when we hear of a helicopter rescue craft going down while " simply doing their job " to save others. I went in search of an inquiry report into the tragedy and without dwelling on it's findings I was reduced to tears to read that having survived the actual impact she appears to have been fighting to get it down without a total loss and and seems to have been able to get clear of the wreck and be found floating in the huge seas some 2hrs later!!! To read that she sustained no physical injuries but the cause of death was drowning!!!!! Given her feelings on her responsibility I can't help but wonder if her final thoughts while being tossed around in those seas were that " I have failed to get my crew home this time " I hope and pray that the end did not drag on too long 🙏🙏 A rather long comment but the loss stirred something inside me, may she RIP in Gods care 🙏🙏🙏🙏🇳🇿

My close friend Paul Ormsby was one of the crew ,Paul was planning to visit me here in Australia .We talked on the phone a lot for ten years and I knew all his close friends were in the helicopter that night . Paul said to me on the phone aprox 4 hours before they went down, that Jen you are my dear friend and I hope you know I care very much . It was like he knew ,as it was unusual for him to make such a comment. Very funny man and very caring ,Paul loved his crew mates Dara , Mark and Smidty and he always thought of there children when their birthdays etc came along . Thank you for such a genuine heartfelt comment ,it made me cry but more tears of joy now as i know they are all in a good place ! Jennifer x

two years today , sad loss for the coastguard and ireland, , to loss 4 brave heroic souls , '' SO OTHERS MAY LIVE '' Gone from us but never forgotten , heros never are .
Flight databases didn’t indicate the presence of Blackrock and neither did some of its imagery, the report found. The people who designed the flight data base should definitely be held accountable..
