Thanks, Skelly! The Varagyr Wolf Guard is definitely the best 30K Joytoy action figure so far. However, I noticed that the Grey Slayers lack the shadowing detail that the Varagyr Wolf Guard has. It would really enhance the look of the Grey Slayers if JT added that shadowing. I'm not sure why it was left out.
Yo AC! Yeah, the Varagyr are my fave at the moment. I love playing about and posing them! Yeah, it is a bit of a shame there's no shading on the Grey Slayers, would've made the details pop! But to be honest it wasn't as much of an issue for me as the Grey is pretty dark so it's not as bad as the missing shading on some of the new 40k Space Wolves. It just annoying with the lack of consistency on Joytoy's part
Just got the ponytail guy today, the headsculpt has to be one of the best so far in the entire line. Gotta grab the huscals and vexilla guy to complete a squad.
Agreed! Definitely the best for me too, so far. HH Space Wolves have been awesome. Still need to grab a few Deathsworn and Geigor. I've got praetor and Red-Blade pre-ordered. Didn't think Red-Blade was that well known for joytoy to do a figure lol very happy!
Nice one Gunnar! Yeah, Joytoy are doing some lovely looking headsculpts! Skelly's appropriately dressed for the coming of Russ lol hope you have a good weekend mate!
LOL Thanks for the old toothless confederate guy shouting at me XD They have really great face sculpts but the armour painting seems quite meh - I had the same feeling with the Imperial Fists in Mark3: those rivets need washing to really pop up! I am more of Thousand Sons kind-of-guy (but I got a few SW to accompany Russ, when he will decide to get out of the JT factories!), but I am thinking now to get them anyway ... for science! Cheers!
'Old toothless confederate guy' is actually very fitting for some reason haha Yeah, it would've been so much better to have the details od those rivets painted, or even a wash around them. Ah I will pick up a few Thousand Sons to re-enact the Burning of Prospero! Lol
Still juggling between the 2 wolves with the shield... I am only getting one, so I will probably go with the one with mohawk, even if ponytail looks much better, because the full golden face helmet is better and that is what he will wear 99% of the time There is a sale right now you know where with some decent prices and coupons... but not a shop coupon error yet. Last day
Yeah, the full golden helmet is the best of the lot. I'll be using that and have the unhelmeted mohawk head on one of my other 40k Space Wolves. Managed to get Russ for great deal on Ali, only about 80 quid. Cheapest online I found!
Loken would be a great character for joytoy to do. I'd definitively be up more vehicles! They'd have to get the size right though, especially with the changes in size of their figures
These are amazing! Got a question for you Skelly, I’m Ultramarine and Tyranid focused and going only from late 2023-2024 onward for the boys in blue, but should I consider the 40K era Space Wolves as well? I like their CQC focus and colors as a companion chapter, and they don’t seem to suffer from the many revisions and have the 3.0 design I like. The other chapters I don’t really care about, so do you think they’re worth picking up? I’ve seen good prices on them too. P.S. Should we expect 4.0 intercessors or are 3.0 still safe to buy? You’re more privy on this stuff hence why I ask.
It might be worth waiting out how things play out. The earlier Space Wolves were a bit of a disappointment if I'm being honest. I pretty much customised all of mine to fit my personal taste, I thought they were a bit too plain looking. Arjac, Bjorn, Ragnar, Iron Priest and Sigyrr are 40k Space Wolves I'd recommend. The re-run claw pack is a mish-mash of new and old parts, and lacks shading. So it's not like any of the other chapters re-run releases. HH Space Wolves are definitely superior so far. There is already an updated Intercessor buck which uses the new knees, making them taller. I think the new SM2 buck will likely set a new standard.
@@SkellywagsTV How about Ultramarines? I was looking at the vanguard, sternguard, new terminators, and officers post the most recent gravis armor and 2.0 tsrminator armors. I just don’t want to get frustrated with JT and give up again.
@@SkellywagsTV Those I’m looking at along with the vanguards. The one I really want but am nervous about are the cadians/scions. I was so excited for the kriegs back when but they were so fragile and broke apart immediately. Did those improve with subsequent releases?
Just seen this! The scions and cadians are definitely better quality than the Krieg. Less fragile. Although, I did have a few issues with my cadian with power fist, but I don't think that was widespread
@@SkellywagsTV hey skelly can you make a scene where they all vow down to Ross when he arrives please let all your space wolves be there it will be an epic scene
Yeah, Joytoy have been doing better headsculpts than the GW minis. Definitely a bit too big. I wish Joytoy would've taken the more realistic approach with the line, instead of initially trying to stick so close to the minis
@@SkellywagsTV you notice i been telling them since v2 they can copy a mini but the proportion should be different (remember minis are only 80% accurate) they don't move so joytoy is the one making the joint and parts that move

Great review, as always Skelly! Love that you've been able to bring on additional voice-over talent so you don't have to overwork yourself! ;-)
Haha oh yes! I had to get premium talent on board. Hoping I can get back to a consistent schedule! Thanks mate 💀

I hope they do Luna Wolves figures or at least give us a figure on my namesake, Loken. Also maybe give us some land raiders and Russ tanks
