Solid advice. I think the marketing aspect is often overlooked by people who want to get into this. I know many people who have failed start ups due to terrible marketing even though they had a solid product or service.
Great video! Thank you for giving back. This type content is what is missing from most of the homestead/farming videos out there. A realistic look at the business side not just the emotional connection with animals and a lifestyle. There is no lifestyle if there is no living to be made!!

New here and have a question. What do you do or handle the fat left over after processing. I guess, do you still make and market lard? Enjoyed the video with you and Jason Rhodes recently and hope your channel success in the future. I know I like it.
Great advice. I am starting my journey. Next spring will begin market garden for sale and will “experiment with pasture poultry for our own use to get system down to the go to retail. Lots of good points to consider. I was going to wait until next spring for website but think I will start sales for next spring. Thanks for the advice.
@@FarmBuilder , thank you, I'm currently not raising pigs , I'm planing on the near future , I asked for the reason that I can't find information about predation, I take it that you don't have predation problem, did you hear from anyone about predation in pastured pigs? Thanks
Only on rare occasions or remote locations where there are lions or brown bears. We had a black bear once in with the pigs and he was right at the feeder eating the feed along with the pigs! LOL
my biggest problem is, even tho if you see my videos all my meat is given to families in need, even tho i am giving it away, it has to be prossed in a plant with a goverment inspector, we only have one plant here and they only kill one day a week, i have to book all my pigs an steers a year a head, we dont have a place here or with in 2000 miles that do meat chickens or turkeys, so i have to do them my self, in spit of out laws, but when nothing is avalable, same applies with the demand i have for 60 to 70 Lb BBQ PIGS there is no way i can get them into the plant at a weeks notic even, and they dont clean a pigglet for bbq as it should be, they split the whole belly open, not a small cut at the brisket and a small cut at the back, so i have to do them my self, a 60Lbbq pig sells for $350
