Zach Johnson, the “Millennial Farmer” is a 5th-generation farmer who’s spent his life growing, working, and learning on his family’s farm. His wit and dry sense of humor appeal to children and adults alike. A product of the millennial generation, his appreciation of new technology blends with his old-fashioned work ethic, and he offers a unique ability to deliver his message in a way that resonates with lifelong farmers as well as those with no knowledge of agriculture.
With growing consumer awareness about where their food comes from, Zach has identified the need for an independent voice from the front lines of agriculture. Zach actively promotes agriculture by sharing his day-to-day experiences in the agriculture world while providing farmer-to-farmer education to help facilitate a collaborative conversation between farmers and the public.

Hey Zach, can you do a interview with Jim? Did he own his own farm at one time? How long has he worked on your farm? Was he a professional welder in the past? Seems like it would make for a great video. Thanks for all the content.
I too would like a interview with Jim.
Me too
Me 3
Me 4

"She loves to pet chipmunks......... With her teeth." I don't care who you are that right there was funny. And deserves a thumb up from all of us. Lol

Zach any chance you can post one of your dirt races live this year? I live WAY TO FAR AWAY to come watch. I'm sure many of your viewers would be extremely interested.
Good call, maybe a list of tracks and races ran, we can look them up on UA-cam and watch Zach run!
Love seeing that modified in the video! More racing stuff!!!
@@ryanwilkerson9169 Viking speedway on UA-cam, just watched Zach get a 5th in the A main!!👍🇺🇲
That would be a great watch👍
It's been considered but it seems like it would be more work!
Your children are the stars of your videos. They are absolutely precious.
Agree, He has some great kids !
We just had 6 inchs of rain in our area of west Michigan in the last week. Really the first significant rain all summer. Not complaining but a little to much a little to fast. Other areas had up to 8 inchs. All this came with 6 tornadoes across the state as well. Gotta love it!
12:38 Best Farmer/Dad joke. Keep it up Zach!!
Hi zach how are u all . Just watchin ur latest vid . Very gd . It is too . Just noticing that ur kids all have great personalities . Isla is a wee sweetie shes deffo a daddies girl . Hope u took lots of pics for her great family which is very important onyx will be looking forward to running the chaser bin again this year no doubt . Plus i dont think itl be long before rihanon wants to drive machinery . Judging by the way they fly around in the polaris etc . U have a great farm its so tidy . Ur machinery is kept in great condition it pays dividends at the end of the day . Anyway all the best pls take care
Ain't nothing better than a good ole farm dog! God bless have a great week.
5-10" night of June 25 Southern Ontario lots of crop under water along lake st. Clair
Rain....We went from a drought to almost flood conditions over the last 3 days here in S.W.Lower Michigan. June 25-26-27 we got 4.28" of rain. And it rained so far today .20 with more in the forecast. Hope your area received some it it too. Crops here were showing signs of lack of moisture to full recovery. The farms here grow mostly row crops and now are full and green.
Praying that you get moisture very soon.
What a great way to finish the Monday work day
I've got at least 7 hours left and have been at er since 0600
I've been at it since 0645 and I got little less than 2 hrs to go
Ready for a video 👍🏻
I appreciate you giving the date you filmed. I hope you received a good rain over the past weekend. Keep it between the rows.
I use Win 10 and have his town as a fav on the weather map
My dad always said that a farmer was a man outstanding in his field.
you made the correct decision trading for that 9570 and getting a problem handled with the older tractor
My word Zack the children are growing up fast , another great video.
The dog is saying your lucky it started lol
Nothing more satisfying then running the Bat 🦇
And if I could run it north I’d send this 70-80% the Texas gulf coast is getting y’alls way
Everyone needs a UA-cam record of all their lost stuff.
90 days since seeding and my corn is 9 foot with 30% completed crop ...
Greetings from Greece!!
15:57 a man of culture
I can’t really say why I like this channel so much. I think it is the family and passing the knowledge from one generation to the next.
thanks for sharing your video
My 14 year old terrier along with her 7 year old daughter just love to do the same...with rabbits, squirrels and chipmunks
Here in mid Michigan we say shoulder high by the Fourth of July
We FINALLY got some rain in NE Wyoming!! Picked up over an inch and a half in 3 days
How long until harvest?
Awesome! I'm in eastern SD and we're really dry but not as bad as you boys.
Over here in Washington we're getting hit with a massive heatwave. At least we got a tiny bit of rain a week ago. It was the first measurable amount of rain we've gotten since March.
Can somebody tell from Wyoming how OurWyoming ranch is making out. Have they got rain
Last video. No rain ,limited pasture ,and no hay I have been worried about them
@@georgedavidson7986 I live about 20 miles from them (as the crow flies). I'm sure they got as much as I did.. maybe more..
"She loves to pet chipmunks ... with her teeth". 🤣🤣
Central ND most corn is 6-8 inches right now
I love helping out on my uncle's farm, it's my natural habitat, i also work out at sea fishing during the season, mostly in the winter season then farming in the spring, summer and fall. To anyone interested in getting fit, forget the gyms, become a farmer, think about it this way, you're working by the time they get up, you're working by the time they're having their breakfast, you're working while they're in their car / commuting, you're working while they're done for the day and then some more.
Down here in Southwest Missouri, we've had to go to Liberty link soybeans because Roundup won't touch even 3 inch tall water hemp any more. Even with Liberty, if the water hemp gets over 3 inches tall, it survives. It may get burned a little but it won't kill it. The farmer I help also uses some form of pre-emerge mixed with Roundup for grass that works pretty well. Down here, our corn needs to be pollinating by the 4th of July because we normally get our last good rain around the 4th. We try to plant it around the last week of March to the first week of April.
Are you using enough water and ams. We can smoke waterhemp at any height with liberty.
You should be here in South Texas. We are getting a lot of slow rain. It is really soaking into the ground.
How far south wat area
I've been watching about a year now. Enjoy every post. My family is 5th generation dairy farmers from north central Iowa. Keep up the great work!
Thanks for the update .
Zach whenever I'm having a bad day I usually go back watch your dry fertilizer it always puts me in a better mood
You can have our rain. Its been raining here for 3 days now. Our corn is about 5 foot and our beans are really bushy and big. We're gonna have an awesome yielding corn and beans this year.
Thanks for another great video. Always lots of jobs around farm. Mowing and driveway gravel and loading trucks and washing race car. Wow. I see your planter fixtures still on the shop floor. Have not sold yet??? Am sure writing that check on tractor was not easy. You got a nice one. Ups and downs of keeping equipment current. Oh my. Thanks for the video. Appreciate your time to record. Your drive thru the crops was good except for those no till soybeans. Might end up being ok. Take care and be safe Zach. Thanks. Iowa farm boy from years ago.
Ohhh so I see!!!
These are historical videos to remind you and the others where you put things and how to assemble / disassemble the equipment!! Smart!!!
They do grow fast, too fast. Congrats to mom and dad.
When you don't have water, the roots go deeper. Not always a bad thing . Praying you get rain.
It's awesome when you can find a how to video with your exact make, model, and year of equipment. What a find!
High Zach, it's the 28th and looks like you got some rain. Please let us know if ya did. Sweating out your crops almost as much as you! Good luck, prayers.
I love that you start off with the puppers most videos
Great awesome video zach , onyx, Nate , and Jim
Seeing your kids in the video just brightens my day.
Outstanding alright
Market farming is tough. You have my respect Sir and thank you for all the great entertainment!
56 thousand views in an hour boyu Millennials are great
Wish our corn field looked like that!! Central Illinois we had 7 inches since Thursday 60 acres of corn knee to waist high under water and 60 acres of beans under water!! Don’t know which is worse dry conditions or too much rain! Hope our anhydrous is still there come August!
Gotta love that 2019 corn going to the elevator!
Got 3 1/2 inches of much needed rain in Northern Iowa the other day. Keep sending it. Theres still hope!
5:28 is the best it’s hilarious 😂
Hello from Yorkton, Saskatchewan, Canada. Thanks for sharing your great video’s please keep them coming.
Kids and skidsteers is an awesome combo!
Gosh we all need more rain this year!
Thank you!!
Hope you get some rain. Here in central Missouri, we have had anything from 4 to 13 inches of rain in the last eight days. Thanks for the crops tour.
Outstanding...
It's nice to see the actor that plays millennial farmer again. It's been awhile since I watched your videos
It’s great your crops are growing well
I'm a simple man, whenever you make me smile, I like the video. Haven't missed a like in over 50 videos!
Thank you!
Your dogs are so cute and funny.
Anna barks at the high pitched starter motor sound.
Ditto!
Good to see the 6 X have fun this year and be safe farm looking good
Awesome Video and Much Love as Always!!!
I love watching this channel. I have always been interested in farming since I was a kid. I love the wide open spaces out there. Love your content sir. I'm gen X so it's good seeing a working millennial. Lol
Good Morning Great Millennial Farmer Video, Thanks for sharing, Have a Great week
Zack that land plain grader is the best for drive ways you did a nice job I would have like to see you do it more.
Prayers for the rain y'all need.
we have had tons of hot hot weather for a little bit now and then just had some extremely heavy rain. now the corn is more than 3 feet tall already. maybe like 4 - 5 its hard to tell from where i saw
hell yeah for showing the modified... come down to East Bay Raceway Park for winternationals next year. Not many years left of that place
Around me we have weed problems like crazy. We burn down with either 24d or dicamba, round up, and a couple residual herbicides. Then we post with dicamba or liberty and warrant and some micro fertilizer and fungicide. Almost all of the beans we sold were the extend flex this year.
You make my day every video
Seen your “UA-cam” interview the other day. It was pretty good. And yes, Jim would be great to have on Off the Husk.
Love the tool assortment.
Lol. That was great you actually had to refer to your own video, but hey also very smart and makes life a bit more simple. Good video Zach!🇺🇸
Drive safely and keep safe always godbless
My only weed prevention is rye mat. You get 2 layers because it breaks down slow, then starts to contribute usable soil nutrients.
Don’t be afraid to diversify that mix some. Some nice vetch and oats. Put down some radish to break up the hard spots. We do pretty well with all the hippie dippy stuff. 😀
Dicamba is the way to go just have to be careful and pay attention to your conditions. Kills water himp in an instant.
I think having Jim on a episode of the next off the husk podcast will be a good idea if it hasn't happened yet
I would love to see more dirt Modified content in the videos! Dirt track racing is where its at!
Good looking crops thanks for sharing
My wife just came in from checking out rain gauge and for the past 1 1/2 day she poured out 4 3/4" of rain !
I wish I could have sent you 3" of it.
It’s almost like she barks to warn everyone there’s machinery on the move.
I think there is a sound the starter makes that hurts her ears? Or has some time in the past.
She's the safety dog, without her the farm would not be able to function.
My dog does it too, she is looking for mice to drop out of the engine bays when they start.
She no likey Terminators.
I just imagine everytime zach is about to start something, Anna goes "CLEAR PROP!"
Thanks for the laugh around 12:40
Zach thanks for showing crops, as an ex farmer that's what I like to see in addition to your awesome family and Jim
Well, you know how farming is; where you’re at it’s dry, and I’m in south Louisiana on a crawfish/rice farm and it’s been raining nonstop for months. I also have a precision land grading company and unfortunately my ditching tractor has more hours on it this year than my scraper tractors. We need sun! Lol
Indonesia suport guys....the best 😘
Boy I sure do love comedians oh by the way when it gets cold this year and you're out there harvesting make sure the zinc is not Frozen at least that's what you told me a couple years ago have a good day God bless🙏🚜👍
Dog barks because he is excited that it started and didn't have a dead battery!!
i know this vlog is a few weeks behind but the water in the soil looked great... it wasnt to deep to find.. i hope you have had rain great vlog xx
Great video, Zac. And you are such a great dad.
God Bless you and your family. ✝️
