Now, I'm facing homelessness out of retaliation. I've been just about everywhere trying everything to get the help I need in time. I need to be out by 10/7/24 I'm not asking for money. Maybe just some direction where to go for legal help. There's a lot to my situation and I'm trying to avoid being homeless. Especially when I know I've been targeted and exploited. As a landlord, it's pretty clear I'm going to have to take measures to protect myself against this Government and Non-profit funded industry that targets landlords. I'm running everything by my attorney at this point. And, I've paid him a retainer to defend me against nuisance suits. Very expensive. And, I'm raising the rent to cover these expenses.
How do you treat frivolous complaints of discrimination when the only reason they will file the complaint is to try to stall an eviction for material lease violations? Property owner only has 1 single family home. The home was never put up for sale. Tenant repeatedly contacted property owner about purchasing. There was never a deal formed to sell the property or no signed purchase agreement. Now the potential complaint is try to to claim discrimination for not selling the house when the home was never put up for sale. It is an attorney who is threatening this for filing an eviction lawsuit at the same time.

If a Reasonable Accommodation request is submitted to the PHA to increase payment standards to 120% so disabled persons can continue to afford and stay in the home due to the home being set up with many of the disability related needs and the PHA does not respond back or does not approve the Accommodation fully is that disability discrimination? I do not see any examples on Reasonable accommodation request for increase of payment standards/exception payment standards and if not approved how it is a fair housing violation?what would not approving a RAR for increase of payment standards hurt that person/family like how would it compare to other types of refusal of reasonable accommodation request?
Unfortunately, courts have been very restrictive is recognized reasonable accommodations in the context of financial assistance, other than permitting a co-signer where the total rent to be paid remains the same. I am in California, I am a tenant who is having to file my 2nd complaint disability physical/mental discrimination. 1st ended in a conceliation agreement , this one is new management same owners 200 apt building . I had no idea there are various ways to file a complaint, I did my best. I cannot find anybody to legally represent me as I am not being helped or guided. Stressful and I don't want to get any more stressed out about it, wish I could find you guys sooner. Any suggestions ?

I'm in the same situation, in San Jos, CA and can't find an attorney for a discrimination retaliation law suit.

Delay is a concern, no doubt. Not only in fair housing cases but in other cases as well.
