The mother is German, the father from Bangladesh(or what ever) who studied in Germany. Both lived in Germany and his mother gave birth to Jawed in Germany who studied in Germany. So where at all is the american thing you're talking of? And yes, the Nuclear bomb was also made IN the US, but made BY Germans..
It's funny you use where his Bangladeshi father was educated as a qualifier for Jawed's origin because Jawed and his family moved to the US when he was just 12-13, shortly after East and West Germany reunited. Jawed want to Stanford University and his alma mater is University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Since Jawed was East German, does that mean UA-cam is a Soviet website? Of course not. It would be like saying Volkswagon was a Dutch company if one of its founders was born in Holland.
