I deffinately need to spend more time in Kanto, when I went up to Aomori the landscape was just beautiful and its the side of Japan Im least familiar with.
that's a hard question - there are so many places i love and also long to visit for the first time. Places i loooove include: * onomichi (including shimanami kaido) * kochi, takayama & niyodogawa (most of shikoku as i cycled it) * kamikochi (stunning!) * takayama & surrounding towns (eg. hidafurukawa) * Koyasan (magical and rich in history) * Miyajima (even better when not during peak season) * hakone (well fujisan of course) im really looking fwd to visiting these places for the first time: * gujo hachiman and gero * beppu * ise there are loads more! :)

Jigokudani is a cool place. I went there a few times but it was summer each time. Onioshidashi is a cool place too but probably not in the middle of winter.
Hi Inaka, really enjoying your content as we plan a 2 week trip to Japan next year February. Besides Tokyo, Kyoto, Osaka - we are confused between Hokkaido / Nagano. This video was really useful as I feel Nagano is closer and would be great to see snow and snow monkeys. Do you think skipping Hokkaido is ok? What are your views on Sapporo snow festival? Also do you have any recommendations to see sumo wrestlers - is it worth it (can’t make it to the yearly tournament)

Havnt heard of that place, looks neat though. Lot of cool places in the mountains, need to explore the Alps a lot more.

The Sapporo snow festival is incredible, if its on when you go definitely check it out, if its over though then just Nagano is fine

Oh right right, I went in February. You can actually view the park Via their webcam before you go on the day to check if it has snow
