Shania was mocking the Robert Palmer videos of the time with the supermodels “playing” their instruments.
I'm sure somebody has posted the story but Shania Twain's relationship with her husband is super interesting. Shania was married (her husband co-wrote many of her songs including this one) and she had a best friend who was also married. Shania's husband cheated on her with her best friend and both marriages ended. Shania and the now ex-best friend's ex-husband formed a deep friendship because they understood each other's pain, fell in love, and have been married almost 9 years now.
Holy shitt never heard about that. Shame on them both cheaters!!!
Her ex was also her producer along with many 80s rock bands like Def Leppard

The fact that Frederic gave Mutt the chance to honestly come clean to Shania Twain after walking in on the two of them cheating says a lot about him as a man. Then when the two of them decided to just pretend like everything was normal he had to come tell her about it. It seems like both Frederic and Shania traded up.
As a couple of others have said, this was done in the style of Robert Palmers two 8o's videos for the songs Addicted To Love and Simply Irresistible. Both are great songs

Addicted To Love video was the blueprint. Shot by Terence Donovan, a famous fashion photographer. Unlike the wooden guys in this video the girls knew how to move.Amazingly they didn't know each other at the time but became great friends and have stayed in touch to this day.

Shania was fine AF back in the day. She’s still good looking. This song is like an anthem among female country music fans. She performed this at the Grammys a couple years ago, and all of the younger female artists stood up and went bat shit crazy, clapping, dancing, and singing along.
Cletus t Judd does parodies and he also likes shania. He made a parody of Shanias “any man of mine” with his version,” if shania was mine.” I recommend both.

When it comes to memories associated with this song, I will always remember in sixth grade my class held an end of year karaoke party, it was my first time ever doing karaoke and i still do it today. Anyways 2 of my male class mates got up and did this song both with pink feather boas on. This was back in 2000.
