That was the best interview you've done to date. Thank you for taking the time to edit, splice in visuals, and add time stamps. Most of all, thank you for letting the interview breath and giving the platform to the guests, prompting them with provocative questions and then sitting back and allowing them to do most the talking.
Great interview Chris! Very appreciative to get the rundown on what Ghost Machine is, I was in a similar position to you as not *quite* knowing what it was.
I love these deep conversations where you get to see a bit behind the scenes and gain some real knowledge and perspective. The Ghost Machine business plan and setup is really fascinating. I wish YT shared my enthusiasm for substantiative content like this.
What a great interview Chris. I had the honor of meeting Geoff and Jason and Peter and Francis in Toronto. These guys are real nice people and they are making the best comics! Everyone check out Rook Exodus for sure! That’s their strongest titles
This was a great Comic Tropes interview. I haven’t bought comics for quite sometime. I have been looking for something new to read and I think I will look into Ghost Machine’s offerings because of this interview. Thanks Chris.
I've just finished Redcoat #7, the end of the first story arc. It's superb. Rook Exodus is brilliant as well. In fact I don't have a bad word to say about any GM's output!
Thanks for the wonderful interview, Chris! That was really interesting. One intriguing takeaway for me was the structure of Ghost Machine, and how each of them has an ownership stake in every Ghost Machine project. The other amazing takeaway is that Geoff Johns has Redcoat plotted up to at least issue 100! Wow. It would be so cool to see them get that far (or further) and see Redcoat become a story with a definite end, like Kirkman's Invincible.
That was a great interview. I'm a big fan of Redcoat (I started reading it after you mentioned it, Chris) - bits of it are very stupid and silly and hilariously funny, but it carries a stiletto when it comes to developing a story and character. It's tremendously sharp from the first page to the last when it comes to writing, art and editing.
Such a great interview Chris ! Not having any knowledge of redcoat I’m really keen on giving it a read . Such a great pedigree behind the title ! Looking forward to more of these interviews . And I for one like the longform format !
Thank you, Owen. It’s just frustrating how the algorithm always suppresses interview episodes. I’ve had a bunch of subscribers tell me they didn’t get notified about this one.
A great interview with Geoff and Bryan. I had not heard the reason for Geoff to write a story from a Brit perspective of the Revolutionary War, which was really a civil war. As Brit, I had accepted the American version until I read Robert Graves' Sergeant Lamb books and found that history was a lot more complicated. Benedict Arnold who despaired at the never ending war (no end in sight from his point of time) and decide to turncoat would help end the war. There is a great British comic strip called Adam Eterno about a hero who travels through history and later time, but can be killed by gold, although this was changed in retcon. Pat Mills would always talk about never being paid for his time for research on Charley's War by the publishing company.
You sir, are a scammer! I feel OUTRAGED!! You promised me cat pictures and didn't deliver!! HOW DARE YOU?!! Seriously though, that was a really interesting interview, I am a huge fan of Bryan Hitch and Geoff run on JSA so I was invested from the start, but it turned out to be quite a warm and human interview, and in this day and age getting a positive initiative on comics and arts in general for what Ghost Machine it really gave hope. I also didn't understand really what ghost machine was or what Red Coat was about, but now I am very interested to check it out. Great work!
I really hope ghost Machine is doing well they are doing what I love about comics. I hope you can do interview with the other teams for people to know these books.
This interview was so great, it's got me trying to finish up MY OWN comic book as part of my gn that i really hope to finish up VERY soon* (*December 2024)...😮😊❤🎉)!!!
I love this as a business and creative decision for the creators, however i do wish we had them on superheroes too. Perfect time for Johns to go back to Marvel. Once North finishes their run, Johns would be a perfect writer. Quitely covers. McKone/Reis/Pelletier/Fabok/Manapul interiors.
@ Big part of the reason the DCEU got shoehorned away from Snyder. Responsible for a lot of lackluster creative choices in the theatrical Justice League cut. He said some stuff to the guy who played cyborg which I consider pretty discriminatory. I didn’t appreciate the fact that doomsday clock was ever made. Obviously DC has been screwing with Alan Moore’s work for a long time but Doomsday Clock is so juvenile and underwritten that it’s bankrupt of any form of commentary. I can definitely appreciate him bringing back Hal Jordan. I think he did Flashpoint? I don’t hate flashpoint but I don’t love it either. He did Batman earth one which starts kinda mid but gets progressively worse. Also I read his Geiger from Image comics, it’s a lazy mix of Fallout New Vegas and Breaking Bad. It’s not subtle about its breaking bad influence at all, it’s basically a Walter white fiction. When he’s not actively ruining classic works from creators long abused by the industry, when he’s not butting in with creative decisions that are best left alone, he’s telling boring and mediocre stories.
I can't comment on what you allege regarding his behaviour, and enjoyment is subjective, but I find his work mostly hugely enjoyable. Blackest Night and Flashpoint are two of the the best DC stories I've read and his recent stuff at Ghost Machine I'm thoroughly enjoying. I didn't get the Breaking Bad references in the first run of Geiger, maybe I should re-read them. Anyway, I'm a fan.

The company is so well rounded as far as the genre of stories they tell and that is a breath of fresh air
Great interview Chris! Very appreciative to get the rundown on what Ghost Machine is, I was in a similar position to you as not *quite* knowing what it was.
Love Redcoat…super glad they are in for a long run. Great appreciation for creators at this level!
Not doing the interview live really benefited the video, Chris! I highly recommend you do that again with future interviews
Geoff Johns is my favorite writer. Awesome interview!!!

I felt you were such a good interviewer - asking nuanced, non-obvious questions. Great job as always!
I’ve been loving Ghost Machine so far, I’ve been reading everything!
I just grabbed the last couple Geiger issues from my LCS. I'm now 100% caught up on all GM. Liking Redcoat and Rook the most so far

Great interview! This is making me love Ghost Machine even more.
I love all the Ghost Machine titles. This is my Friday night entertainment sorted. Thanks Chris!
Really enjoyed it lots of interesting insights and it it's great to hear they are intending to give this title a long run.
Though not a big comic fan, love this channel and very much enjoyed this interview.
Great stuff thanks.
Incredible interview I definitely gotta buy some issues of Red Coat! Ghost Machine seems great!!
What an exciting interview! Can’t wait to listen to the whole thing later today doing chores
Great interview!! Thank you very much for sharing!

Excellent interview.
I've only recently discovered your channel but really appreciate what you're doing. Thank you!

Great interview Chris. Definitely would love to see more of this style content.
Thanks. It’s just that the algorithm rarely pushes those up.
Ghost machine artists still do covers for other companies. Upcoming titles have variant covers by the GM artists.
Such a great interview Chris ! Not having any knowledge of redcoat I’m really keen on giving it a read . Such a great pedigree behind the title ! Looking forward to more of these interviews . And I for one like the longform format !
Great job Chris! So cool how you got to speak with two of the coolest creators in comics.

Great interview Chris!
I love everything they've put out so far. Getting them in singles. Haven't read Rockefellers yet
Great, well produced interview. I'll definitely pick up Red Coat in trade paperback
Man, i hope geoff and bryan come to Wonder Con next year.

Too Long Didn't Watch, anybody else? Please tell.
@@erikbihari3625 It's great. Definitely worth spending an hour watching
@johnedelman7487 . Whatever you say.
Then why did you comment?
@christiaanheying4707 . For knowing didn't left this out.
Love you but I hate Geoff Johns more than any living comic creator
Why?

@ lol
Wish getting one nickle after every time someone used these words"ghost"and"machine"inside the same title! Would probably get filthy stinking rich!
it's the name of the company they started?
@marfaxa . Joke.
