you shouldnt do an sat more than twice unless ur third or 4th is above 1550 because its like you are repeating the same test same problems same logic different numbers and words,+ i saw if you take more than 2 sat and under 1300 not many colleges will accept, 2 or 1 sat under 1300 they will accept

My brother (going to dartmouth and rejected a 100k scholarship from rice) cried for a week after getting a 1560 and retook and got 1600.

Ikr I took it once and got a 1450 so I was like eh good enough. Took the act twice tho and I’d say it was worth cuz I went from 31 to 35

For all of you stressing about the SAT here is a quick guide for most of the sections. This mainly applies to individuals already scoring above 1400, but can probably be of help to anyone.
For the history reading section read a lot of passages relating to women's rights, voting rights, and slavery. For the other sections try to read about current events that are important. For the science section you only need to know how to parse information, but knowing general knowledge about a broad range of topics is beneficial.
For the grammar section learn grammar rules until you can get above a 340/400 for this section. This should only take a couple hours. To try to work your way up to a 400/400 for the section focus on reading badly translated works, or go on a webpage in another language, translate it to English, and read through it while trying to fix all the errors in your head. This should drastically increase your intuition towards grammar and will increase speed. Try to be able to figure out which of the answer choices is correct solely based on how it sounds in your head, and only use the grammar rules when you are unsure.
For math the exam is absurdly easy. I would probably recommend just reviewing a bit of high school math. Also try to focus on not making mistakes, as there is ample time on the math section, and most people I know mess up on the math section due to some minor errors they made out of carelessness.
Overall, try to get the foundational knowledge, but anything above a 1560 does require a slight amount of luck. Anything above a 1580 is pretty much luck so don't try to retake your exams once you get to this point (unless you just want to get that perfect score for fun).
These strategies are extremely effective. Of course take 1-2 practice tests before the exam to get used to questions. I personally got a 1580 in around 12 hours of studying and many of my friends have gotten above 1550 within 40-50 hours of studying.

Ive done a practice test and got 1410, perfect score for math section and only struggled with the reading section. I found it really hard to complete it within the time frame. Any tips to how to approach the comprehending questions and texts?

I got a 1520 my senior year of high school (2014). Graduated went to community college for “process operations” for a year then realized it’s about who you know VS what you know. Furthermore, I said fuck it and went to trade school (Pipefitter) and saved time from college and debt free locally. Making over 100,000 yearly now owning 2 semi rigs

SUPERSCORE: 1500
Grateful and I don't need anything higher. I'll now focus on extracurriculars, friends, and a job on the weekends.

i took my sat for the first time last month, and today, in just a few hours, my results are gonna be released. During the test I've gotten a bit nervous, kinda messed up the reading section. Therefore, I'm already thinking about taking it again. I hope I don't need to.

Note to people that are still in Highschool, SAT scores and GPA only matters if you wanna get into a really good college, only the first degree-related job will actually look at your College GPA, and they might not even care, after that they couldnt give 2 craps, they just care about experience and good references.

Man I have gotten a 1020 three times in the past 3 years! I have been studying, I have improved in the years since I was a 9th grader, but I just cannot stop doing poorly.
I finally did better, got a 1230 now. Just keep studying for a few weeks beforehand

@@vavilonec It would only help you to move to America if you actively talk to people, so you would have to be very social to benefit from moving here. I am sorry for you, because the English portion was difficult for me and I naturally am able to correct the language in my head by reading it and thinking how I would wright it.

looking at all of yall own , then mine is really bad but huge improvement since i watched your videos and also had other exams going on so didnt really get to practice much coming closer to the SAT. The first time I got a 950 but the second time with your vids and a lil more practice i got 1140. pretty proud of the improvement sad its still low.

The only reason I’m not doing great on mine is because I’m frankly way too slow. I get the questions right, but I always run out of time and have to guess the rest.
Got a 1230 psat, a 1290 psat, 1390 sat and then 32 act (basically a 1450). I didn’t study that much for any of them, and none was done with tutoring. I wish I would’ve had the resources and time to know everything all the high performers know abt this test.
It’s not a “hard test” but it’s a trick questions test. But other than college admissions, at most schools the score cap for scholarships is like 1380 so anything above that is typically not needed.

Is it necessary to take sat since 9th or 10th grade ? Can ı take it at 12th for the first time ? ( Im not from usa so ı don't have a clear information about that)
@@Roseinne If your school offers the option to take a PSAT (Practice SAT) then I would do it just so you know what your weaknesses are and have some experience for when the real deal rolls around. Also in the US you can take the SAT up to 4 times and keep your highest score so there’s not much pressure 😁👍
my sophomore one was 1190, junior psat was 1400 and actual sat was 1510 so I'm satisfied enough
I took it for the first time in August and got 1500 and am thinking of retaking it next year

Finished highschool with a 1350 and most, if not all, universities did not require the SAT; That includes elite institutions such as Harvard and Stanford as well as the University of California system, which has dropped the test as an admission requirement permanently.
For SAT critics, test-optional admission at colleges and universities took far too long to become prevalent. The test has been accused of putting students from underrepresented communities of color at a disadvantage for years. So overall, don't stress about it, it's not that big of a deal. If you want to get accepted focus on maintaining your GPA as well as participating in extracurriculars.
I'm just going for a 1200 and make up for it with extracurricular stuff. I don't have time to study for it and don't want to collapes mentally.
Seriously tho, people like to overdue the hell outta the SAT. It is not AT ALL the terrifying test people make it out to be. The only thing I really recommend is actually paying attention in class, especially Math, and taking PSAT's and SAT Practice Tests. They really help yyou get an overall feel for it and gives a mmore comforting feel when taking it, which this video proves perfectly

As a person who got a 1410 on the SAT, the SAT should be removed as the international testing system for higher grade students
A Math 770 in Asia is ~50th percentile range. With China being in the 58th percentile, 48th in Korea, and the 45th in Vietnam. This means the SAT has became a low standard through Asia.
The GaoKao test in China or JIT Exam in India are much more competitive, as almost no one has been able to perfect these two exams
This would force countries to develop their education system and would have the world avg IQ skyrocket.
I got 1580 the first time i took it. I took it on June 3 2023 and just received the result 3 days ago.

The idea of studying to intentionally score higher on an aptitude test that measures your intrinsic ability to learn, never sat right with me.
This is why colleges stopped caring about SAT scores... when a person is able to pay for 15 SAT tests the tests stop measuring how good they are at the topics and start measuring how good they are at taking the test... that's like 900$ for a good SAT score

In my freshman year my school did not let us know ahead of time about our psat and gathered all the freshman separately in the gym💀 I got so nervous and lost that I skipped hella questions and started panicking during the test. Ended up with like 800 smth (somewhere near 900). I never wanna experience that again😭

Anything past like 1550 is basically luck of the draw on the questions presented the main difference between 1580 and 1600

I got an 880 on the 9th grade psat
Then 980 in 10th
1070 on 11th nmsqt
1150 on 1st sat
1280 2nd
1300 super score to 1340
And last one 1330 superscore to 1370
My goal was 1400 and I could’ve sworn I got a 760+ on math which would’ve gotten me a 1400 but I got a 730 😢

I got a 880 last year and it was my first one, this Saturday I’m going to take the second one on my senior year, and I hope to reach more than 1000, but I feel like I’ve improved a lot since last year but I keep not meeting expectations on my practice test, so I’m a bit scared not gonna lie.

My actual score is a 1060, as I took a practice test and this is where I know I’m supposed to be at. I’ll update this once I get that 1300 👊🏻

If you get that score and a 93 or a lesser competitive gla you actually have a chance at Harvard cuz most people who get into Harvard have slightly less than that, as long as u have taken ap courses and extracurriculars then ur good to go

@@xplicitgoofy1015 all ivys are overrated tbh if u think about it any college literally offers u the same opportunity the reason why ivy graduates get higher salaries is cuz they usually are smarter cuz they got in over others so they work harder, but it's always about working smarter, not harder, and if u get into an ivy but then get into a decent college like NYU or Boston uni, whichever is cheaper is the better choice if ur not financially able to afford expensive tuition. Other than that it really depends on ur interests

Khan Academy has a lot of good free resourse, including full pratice tests

Increasing vocabulary takes too long time and its more logically to learn math and grammar writing since SAT reading is also like roulette where you can get your topics where you are good but at the same time it can give you terrible literature...
The only things that you can do to improve your Reading is to develop time management and create your reading strategy but there is still influence of luck

I got an 1020? 1120? in 7th grade, took a pre in 8th for ~1200, got 1380 junior year, took it again for a 1430 at the start of senior year. I tried to actually study for it and take it again before college applications, but a marching band competition was rescheduled for the testing date, and there weren't any testing dates soon enough after to get scores, so I never took it again.
