After watching a talk like this, I think it's easy to think, "This is one of the best talks of this sort I've ever seen..." But I would not be surprised that if I came back to it in a few years...that I'd still feel that way.
Thanks, Austin, from a former Austinite living in a village in southwest France where the world is small, and everyone familiar. I have found the size and pace of life that keeps my feet firmly on the ground and my creative heart pumping. Funny, I think of you often...because there are so many villages here that are floundering economically, and could become havens for artists - you mentioned some time ago that one doesn't need to be in Austin of SF to make art - go where you can afford to live and be happy. You and your family are welcome to visit. We can all share good juju and make stuff.
Great video, thanks! Nitpicking: 24:36 #10 -- 'spend time on something that will outlast them' -- I get the point, but it clashes with 22:16 which suggests cleaning up rather than making a mark. Minor really. The whole thing made me think, and sometimes rethink. Thanks again.
Really enjoyed this, thank you! Down with "art monsters" (have met a few in my time, unfortunately) and yes, certainty definitely a roadblock to discovery -- you have a clear and wonderful way of putting things.
Thanks for providing this video, and thanks to Austin Kleon for some things to hold in my mind.
