Over here on the east coast (atleast in my port) they hire all the jobs by gangs. 6 people to a lashing gang.we bring 2 sets of rods 1 person on the fwd end/ 1 on the aft end, with 2 people also on each side cutting loose the lashing bars. i notice in your videos you always only have 1 person with you? does your port hire the lashing differently?
Yes we are hired differently. We are hire by work load more or less in our port. Once on the ship we break up in teams of 2, each pair has their own set of poles on a drop. I've been on lashes with only 2 lashers and as many as 32 lashers.
