What about using a 5 or 7 wood on that shot of the bad lie in the rough? It seem their higher lofts would be a big benefit in getting the ball higher in the air quicker. Great tips as usual.
Very similar to an old Rick or Peter video talking about hybrids. Love seeing a video about fairways. I feel like they don't get their day in the sun anymore since hybrids come in every size.
Great Tips for Tuesday. Thanks so much for thinking of the average golfer that wants to get better and providing some instructional content instead of nothing but the perils of "wannabe" pro golfer.
All all these tips are great. Problem is I’m just not consistent enough for them to always make a difference. Case in point…. There’s this one dog leg Wright that plays from an elevated tee at the course I usually play. Hitting the driver can get you in trouble on this hole. You can actually drive through the fairway and end up with a ferry awkward lie on the side of a hill. You can easily hit it out of bounds on the right. At the same time you can just have a solid five iron keep it low. It’ll catch that heel as it goes down in a roll down and give you a pretty decent lie about 110 yards from the hole. I’ll set up and the ball or hit it fat. I lack consistency..
sux to be me ....i have no friends or family to share this exceptional video lesson with or to share anything with ...oh well as always i appreciate the content and wish you nothing but success and happiness for all your days :)
I just got the discontinued Cleveland HyWood, which I got to mess around with a bit yesterday. I have used my 5 hybrid to chip a lot, but the HyWood face seems friendlier if more loft isn't needed. Beats my 3 and 5 wood easily (for chipping)
Trying to hit a straight ball is futility. Last year I just aimed left edge fairway and 10y left of target and had great scores. Could be my clubs are flat lie, but it works
Think a very high percentage of golfers use there 3 wood off the tee because driver can be a disaster for alot of people, hope this helps others like it did me 😁
Damn - I'd love a personalised lesson - too bad I don't have enough friends to like my comment. Thanks for the tips Matt!
Congrats @Shift2375 you are the winner, drop us an email at info@mattfryergolf.co.uk to sort out your lesson.
I'd really benefit from your assistance with hitting fairway woods consistently, leaving a comment for the algorithm.
I love that last shot. I really enjoy practicing things like that on the course. Makes me feel talented :)
I'm a big fairway wood player. I carry 7w, 5w, and 3w. I have used them in all these scenarios and came definitely confirm these things work well!
I used to hit up to an 11 wood so I completely get it!
Great tips, it all makes sense. Now just go and do it. Thanks Matt.
Thanks again Matt for some great advise.
Excellent video. Helpful for me as I am nervous near green

Great tips, thanks

Practiced today ... Great thank you
Great tips Matt. Thanks!!
“a lot of us have already got a slice in us”. 🤣🤣🤣👍🏼
Nice tips again matt thank you
Fabulous 👌 Tips
Great video Matt!
I like to use my fairway woods as head cover holders. They're perfect in that role. 😂
Love my hybrid..could almost play a full round with it
Love a lesson 🎉
Great tips, as usual!

Gave up on my driver a long time ago! 3 wood goes 20-30 yards shorter but avoids trouble!

Well done matt 👏 😊
Greatvtips! Would these tips apply to a hybrid as well?
I've been known to occasionally use mine for greenside bump and run shots too, on those days when I'm chipping like an epileptic orangutan
Can you do a review if able on the Cleveland Hywood please
Great video Matt, but I think I need your skills 😊
With tip 4 in the trees, I normally hit a trunk or branch while trying to come out!
Lovely Matt
Tip number 1 would be really useful for your pal Rick Shiels 😂
Trying to hit a straight ball is futility. Last year I just aimed left edge fairway and 10y left of target and had great scores. Could be my clubs are flat lie, but it works
Nice tips🏌️♂️
would love some lessons
Swazzid? 😂. Good shot 👌
I get the biggest thrill when i hit my 3 wood clean and reach a green in reg on a par 5
That is Swazzin 😂
I use my 3 wood off the tee most of the time. If the fairway looks like west Texas with lots of open space, I use my driver, otherwise, its 3 wood.
If I am using ShotScope and I "putt" with my fairway wood, is that going to adversely impact my statistics with that wood?
Think a very high percentage of golfers use there 3 wood off the tee because driver can be a disaster for alot of people, hope this helps others like it did me 😁
I would need it a lot, but getting those likes is a challenge:) So, please... with sugar on top!
My fear is you would look at my swing and tell me to take up pickleball.
Day/video 34 I'm asking again can I have your ER5
