Thank you so much for this reaction! APE actually has a sort of MV called "Searching for TY." It was a teaser but is kind of like a mini film with Ape as the soundtrack. It's really cool; you should check it out! There's no choreo, though. Also, the other b-sides are incredible. There's a lot of diversity, and those songs are a lot different from these. I hope you'll check those out too, and of course, the dance practice when it comes out, because the choreo looks fire. Taeyong wrote ALL the lyrics in this album and composed every song with producer friends. Yes, 10 years! Taeyong debuted in 2016 but was part of SM rookies as a trainee a couple of years before that. I LOVE TAP but it's actually my least favorite on the album; however, I do think it was smart to choose it as the title track because of its potential with challenges and the general public, etc. Anyway, thanks for showing your support, and I'll look forward to more!
I saw the thumbnail for searching for TY but I didn't know what it was about and didn't click it. I'm going to have to check it out cause I really like Ape! I'm going to give the rest of the project a listen, maybe Taeyong has another song I'll like

APE has dance choreo. Taeyong already performed it in TY TRACK his first solo concert last weekend. The choreo is so cool. Maybe there's APE live performance video from TY TRACK here in UA-cam if someone has uploaded it.
I need to see the choreo! Hopefully someone uploads that performance to the Tube!
I like the whole songs in the album and each has its own charm. Those that i listen more are ups and downs, moon tour, 404 loading, ape. Taeyong sings very well, he has beautiful and unique voice. The music productions also great. Him as song writer and co composer did amazing!

TAP is more kpop friendly I guess. APE is definitely my song, have been waiting for a full rap track from Taeyong for some time, and it doesn't disappoint. His other b sides are also very good, he is a versatile artist.
TaeYong is real real. Over the past 10 years, we can feel his true emotions delivered through his lyrics and music. From his fierce "Open the door" to his latest "Ape" it's apparent that there's a difference in his attitude towards himself and the way he views life... and I'm loving all his albums as it's his honest expression of his real identiTY.
This seems to be a sad commentary on just how TY feels deep within his soul! I mean first he puts out this pretty boy hype song about some tapping seeming to make all the masses and the big money men happy and then he puts out this scathing word play in his rap about just playing the ape to keep everyone happy! I looked up in the Urban dictionary what tappin' might mean and it said, "Tappinzee is a person who is able only to tap at the keyboard of a computer with one finger (kinda like a monkey). Well you can read a lot into this definition. All those people behind the computer in a ambiguous darkness hurling love or hate and the big money men running the show (his life) by these computer commentators and making their ape (chimpanzee) give the masses what they want. And he is saying that for 10yrs (too young to make his own decisions) he has been manipulated like a monkey to make them money but he wants to go his own way now and break out to show just who the real TY is! I don't think it was a coincidence that these 2 songs came out together! I think TY is a deep thinker and will go far on his own talent! Thanks for your commentary!

I just saw TY say APE was the song he'd recommend to others himself. So maybe you'll get your wish. I'm sure TAP was chosen because it's more accessible--Shalala scared some people, TBH, though I absolutely loved it. So, he led with something less challenging this time. And the views and chart success show he was probably right to do that from a business standpoint, to pull people in. Let's hope he does APE, too, though. During his concert he said APE was about how he was earlier in his career when he let money rule his life too much and that he had to change that POV later. And BTW...TY and Heachan both got into some trouble when photos of them with vape pipes surfaced so...I'll just leave that there...
If we judge by the medley, then Ape probably already has an MV.
