Interestingly, I've read a team of Danish scientists have identified what adds to the mouthfeel and flavour of a regular beer and produced an NA beer that is indistinguishable from a regular beer in taste and mouthfeel. They have reproduced the component and will be making it available to brewers later this year. NA beers have come a long way in just a few years when everything tasted like unfermented wort. I think in a few years time they will be indistinguishable in all characteristics, aroma, body and flavour from an alcoholic beer.
Hi Paul, totally agree about horrid dog biscuit aroma/taste. My local Morrison's now do a very good AF beer by Edinburh-based Brulo called 7 hop, 7 grain DDH IPA. It uses Sabro, Nelson sauvin, Simcoe, Citra, Columbus, Mosaic and Azzacca hops! Tastes about as close as I can imagine its possible to be to normal beer. Recommend giving it a try £2 a 330ml can.
For me non alcoholic lagers taste like overly soured dogs biscuits and sometimes like there is even added table sugar in there (maybe as preservative or it's just what do I taste like). Good non alcoholic beers are really hard to find in most of the countries, unfortunately. I'm more than satysfied with craft beers in Croatia but no one really make something nonalcoholic. I would like to have them as isotonic after sport and workout for example.

I had an alcohol free Erdinger recently which was honestly very nice. Probably the only alcohol free beer I have really enjoyed.

Hi Paul, I would recommend lucky saint if you fancy a non-alcoholic one that’s decent. It’s unfiltered which helps!

I went 6 weeks off booze with the help of Guiness 0.0. It's not bad as long as you don't directly compare it to the real thing.
Can I recommend Virgin Mary by Ilkley Brewery. Really good NA beer.

The best non alcoholic lager is Perlanbacher 0% from Lidl, no dog biscuit smells 😁, you should try that, about £2.49 for 6 bottles.

I’ve not had one AF beer that hasn’t been too sweet, thin with no body.
I think the conclusion is drink proper beer or have coke lol. I don’t even like the alcoholic version of that. Going to spurs v Southampton COYS .
