I agree. Great swing groove. The sax section deserves a lot of kudos as an ensemble on this chart. Check out the version of this song I posted from the 1972 North Texas State 1 O’Clock Jazz band. Even better trumpets. ua-cam.com/video/K284fr-Xr9Q/v-deo.html
Love this! Brings back such fond memories. When I was a 19 year old jazz band trombonist in college Mr. Watrous came to our school and we had the privilege of performing a concert with him. Truly one of the highlights of my life! The guy is incredible and I blew my chops out that night!
I saw Bill play this with the Navy Commodores in 1977 at the Navy School of Music. That was a quick tempo also. Bill told GREAT stories of when he was in the Navy. 😀
One of my favorite swing pieces of all time. Just great stuff!

What a superb player and smoking band.
Thanks for posting this up for us, great outstanding arrangement and solos
Bill was a great player. We have lost a giant.
I so like this arrangement. What a quick tempo

Very good here's another version sans Bills sweet horn. I particularly like the drummer Dennis Carlson.
