My latest (and longest, by far) is "WALL-E'S OLD MAN," a kind of mash-up of Wall-E and UP:

Sure, Wall-E had the baby because it was easier for me to animate than to have EVA give birth. Besides, who says what their gender really might be? Remember, EVA is the one packing the high tech weapons.

I love the Wall-E movie but this has gone way WAY too far

Not to go into that discussion, but it involves traditional "male" attributes such as EVA packing heavy weaponry, acting first, being aggressive, strong and single-minded. Wall-E has what have been traditionally "female" traits, being meek, runs from danger, not very strong, needs protection, and is rescued in the end by EVA. I'm NOT saying Wall-E is a female but I am saying traditional roles color our judgement. Thankfully those traits no longer need apply to characters in movies.

I work in Lightwave for modeling and animation and it has its own render engine. Like all 3D programs there can be a steep learning curve and, while I have been using it for years, I still feel like a beginner. Every scene is rendered out in elements or layers and composited in After Effects. Thanks for your comments. Much appreciated.

Part of what inspired me to make this particular animation was the discussions online about the relative "maleness" and "femaleness" of Wall-E and EVA, as well as their role reversals in the Pixar movie. The makers of that film were being coy with gender and played around with audience expectations -- and so I did the same.
Another Wall-E tribute film from me? It's possible. Maybe if enough viewers expressed an interest.
