    When you sow grass seed it’s good to roll it in with a garden roller after you have raked it, then get the sprinkler on it every few days . It helps the germination process as it has more contact with the soil and also really stops the birds eating it. You can get them quite cheaply on Facebook marketplace and the old vintage ones look really nice .

    Ali, I forgot to tell you (I think) my dad had 60 beehives when I was in high school. My older brother and he would rob the bees and put the honey-laden comb into a compact but extremely effective device that drained some extra honey out of some of the comb. My mom and I were on jar sterilization and packing and labeling. People loved it as gifts so much and our teachers directly hinted it was their favorite. I think you will find it so rewarding. Our neighbor a few doors down has bees and there are 3 birdbaths between there and our house that are concrete but ours is black metal and the bees all come to our birdbath for water. None will touch the concrete birdbaths. I really think if you get more hives you will want a small shed with tile floors with a drain so you can wash it down. It's damn sticky business.

    They say when seeding a lawn always factor in 50% extra for the birds. Because most birds will eat grass seed. Unfortunately. 👍💙👍🇬🇧

  • @Blushun
    @Blushun 3 роки тому

    Hey Ali, as always, great content. 👍🏼 Perhaps you’ve already taken this route or others have already suggested it but one way to tackle the lawn is to spread double or even triple the seed. That way the birds get some but won’t be able to get through all of it before it sprouts. Hope this helps! ❤️ from 🇨🇦
