Car bodies from the 60s and 70s were extremely flimsy some of that massive power is beating wasted flexing the body sooo if you stiffen the body by adding a roll cage it that power can actually be applied to the wheels the car was never built to be making 1000-1500 hp it was built with 300-500 hp

The reason the 0 - 60 goes faster is because more weight on tires = better grip which will then make a better 0 - 60 but not top speed
