What was your first racing game? Mine was Gran Turismo 3!
Dirt 2.0
beach buggy racing
Tank circa 1978
Moto Racers 2001 or Baja Edge of Control.
Forza Horizon 4
Man, Motorstorm: Pacific Rift is STILL one of my all-time favorite racing games. If it ever got the HD treatment or just popped up as a port on the store, it'd be a day one purchase for me.
I have put in atleast 600 hours into Pacific Rift on my PS3 haha
split screen was awesome with friends in this game in my top 5 racing games for me for sure
The original motorstorm is my fav
WWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW
Use the ps3 emulator and up the rez
The most slept on and underrated racing game ever. Lost many day, nights and weekends with this gem. Also loved destroying the online community with my infamous pink dune buggy 😂
I’m pretty sure Split/Second or Fuel gets that title. Motorstorm isnt underrated at all.
@@Fetidafexactly what i was thinking. motorstorm was successful
Thus game gives me Fuel vibes. Definitely one of the best ps3 games I've played and had a HUGE map
Most slept game was driveclub
@@dishameena-iq6sy agreed. But Motorstorm was first for that.
This game was the reason I got a PS3, too.
I was so addicted to it. And Pacific Rift.
And the amazing thing about the music was that it sounded like it’s actually played through speakers in the canyons. They added some reverberating effect to it. Just sounded awesome.
And it’s actually from 2006 so it turns 18 this year. It wasn’t even supposed to be a real game start. Just a graphics and physics demo of what the PS3 was capable of but people loved it so much that they turned it into an actual game.
Ooohhhh that's why lmao my grandma's 15 year old Toshiba makes it sound like garbage I thought it was the tvs fault entirely
It was the atmosphere of the festival that got me. It seemed like a place I’d like to be at. The way the made the soundtrack sound live was incredible for the time.
This game and ProStreet nailed that aesthetic, and they were released about a year apart which I find ironic.
I'm 24, and I IMMEDIATELY recognized that logo in the thumbnail. Loved this game and you're definitely not wrong about the soundtrack.
This was one of the first games I played as a kid back in the 2000s. Lots of great memories. Please make more content with this one!
I remember when this game came out. If you love Motorstorm and crazy crashes and crazy racing then give Motorstorm Apocalypse a go. I honestly miss Motorstorm games and wish they never stopped.
I never finished Apocalypse, I was drawn away from it because it had a story to it and I didn't like that
@@siltstridersftw the story wasnt too bad but the free play and pvp was floorless and so much fun. Not only that but the car customisation options and car selection was pretty dam good for a game of its time. I wish they made a remastered Motorstorm Apocalypse.
@@GMacGaming-rc2ee I might go back to it sometime because I still own it
@@siltstridersftw apocalypse had very very exceptional pvp with up to 16 players, it was online for around 10 years. You missed out.
For a game that's over 15 years old, the gameplay looks like a ton of fun! The vehicle damage and destruction looked impressive and fact you can punch riders off of bikes and ATVs is crazy ha ha! I love it! 👍
You know I’m always in favor of older games. This shit rocks. Keep being rad, dude. Always love from this guy 🤙
it seems like most old racing games are better than games these days
Bros got that stereotypical surfer slang ☠️
@@MEMESFROMDISCORD haha
@@Driftstudios01because they don’t have an annoying live service model catering to people that are obsessed with cosmetics.

28… My dude, I am nearly twice that. Way to make me feel old. Haha!
I sound older than I am unfortunately 😂
Lmao, yeah I was in high school when I started my " gaming career " with NES Rad Racer and Gouls and Ghost. 28 was a while back for me but I'm still gaming and young at heart. 4? years old physically but 28 mentally. 😁🤘
I always loved smugglers run on ps2. It had decent damage for the time and different maps/biomes. Always loved sliding around on the frozen lakes.
absolute classic i remember playing that on phat CRT
I just bought a copy of smugglers run for my PS2 slim I recently picked up at a retro store. It indeed is a lot of fun!
Damn I haven't heard that one in a while ❤
Destruction Derby 2 was my very first racing game it was truly a gem for the PlayStation
I'm old, I was 33 in 2007! lol I grew up with Spectrum's and then Amiga's, had Playstation's from the first one, I still have a PS3, but mostly play PC games like Beam and Forza 😊
I cant tell you how much I love this game. I love seeing someone who shares the passion I do for this game
Thank you SO much for playing me and my fathers favourite game, and I would love to see GT4, Burnout 3 or even the original Forza Motorsport!
The entirety of the Motorstorm series is gold. I grew up mainly with Pacific rift and Apocalypse, later played Monument valley and Arctic Edge. They all are amazing and unique. I would explode into happiness if a remake or new game ever got announced. Like I'm not even joking, these games are literally my favorite of all time.
Racing games just aren't the same anymore. And that is the reason I still to this day, boot up my copy of Motorstorm Pacific Rift on my PS3 and play for hours. Despite having played the game for 13 years, I never get tired of what the game offers. I recently actually bought a PS2 just so I could play the PS2 port of Arctic Edge, despite already owning it on the PSP. Motorstorm will be something I never walk away from and forget. It's tracks, music, vehicles, all are engraved in my memory forever.
Lunatics Unite.
Yeah, the arcade racing genre is absolutely dead at this point.
I agree.
Well they made a game called onrush a couple years ago that is incredibly similar to motorstorm but will never me nearly as good as any motorstorm game for sure
@@BangkokBeef I've played it, got the platinum trophy too. But the servers are sadly shut down now.
At least we can enjoy the game ofline.
This game might be older than me, but I really enjoy seeing these old racing games, for some reason. Please do more, they’re so fun!
Oh my god, this was my childhood. I absolutely adore these games, motor storm and motor storm pacific rift. This, paired with the offroading that I actually did with my pops growing up, created my absolutely love for off roading and desire to get into it. Lol, some of the music is so iconic and brings back so many memories. If anyone likes these types, I suggest going back to these, absolutely amazing!!
Thank you for bringing it back Neil!
Speaking of burnout....... Burnout 3 was my entire childhood
First games that my grandparents got me when the PS3 came out were MotorStorm: Pacific Rift, DiRT 1 and NFS: Pro Street, happy memories.
This was the first ever racing game I played on PS3. And I had an absolute blast. Unfortunately, my old PS3 gave out so I couldnt use it, so I didn't see a need to keep any of my games. But omg, this game was awesome. I remember unlocking the big rig. I would literally go the wrong way and destroy everyone. I had so much fun. But I do remember some of the races being a little difficult. I loved the crash physics, the explosions. This game was and still the goat of PS3 games
The ATV OffRoad Fury series was the entirety of my elementary and middle school years! It’s underrated af, and I’ve not seen that many videos of it on UA-cam over the years. Physics in it were daaaamn good too
The second game I definitely played the earliest, then the first, never the third, but have the most time in 4. I love that game, and the build your way to the top aspect is awesome and sorely missed from current racing games.
2 and 3 are definitely the pinnacle imo. 1 was a classic with some bangers on the soundtrack, 2 narrowed it down but still kept it new and exciting. ATV 3, which I’d say I spent the most time with, was a mainstay in my life😂😂 I’d highly recommend it. The courses are more advanced, freestyle is more expansive, the AI is actually pretty Fukin good for what was 2006-2008 I believe, and they provide a decent challenge in the “story” mode. ATV 4, I played a little, but just freestyle and I just jammed to the soundtrack, which introduced me to Lamb of God and Audioslave🤘🤘🤘🤘 the story never really appealed to my preteen mind, but I’ll defo have to revisit it sometime😂 I always noticed to “championship; conquer to ATV Off-Road world!” Story aspect of 4 tho, and I felt like
it was gonna click with some people🫵🏼😂😂 the PS2 really does have some unseen gems🥲 and another thing. Cheat codes. Genuine. Cheat. Codes.🥲🥲
this was my escape as i child, i've played every motorstorm game every chance i had when visited my dad for the weekends.
Hitting the rock after the jump at 4:41 gave me flashbacks from my childhood
frrrr
When Neil said you can punch people off, that made me remember that I have Motorstorm: Arctic Edge for PSP
That part reminded me of another game... Road Rash.
Awesome vid, and I'd love to see more. I have about 5 years on ya, and yeah this game was mind-blowing when it came out. My first racing game was Gran Turismo 2 and originally played that, I was certain nothing could ever look better... and then this happened, and I was there all over again.
Dude, I actually got the logo helmet tattoed in my arm! Nice to see another Motorstorm enjoyer
The nostalgia. 7:16 also that rock would always catch me off guard 🤣
Man I used to play the pacific rift game. That game was honestly one of the greatest ps3 games ever
I love MotorStorm so much, my cousins and I would play it so much. Both the first and second are amazing. The soundtrack was amazing as well. This video brings back so many memories.
Motorstorm is definitely one the most underrated racing series out there and I only ever played one of the games. Motorstorm Apocalypse was the one I had and the crashes made it hella fun but for me I always wanted some free roam in my racing games and I don’t remember it having any. Another great slept on game was Fuel, also hella fun with a huge free roam map
I still remember playing this at my cousins house❤, man the good ole days😢
Please man, since you played this first Motorstorm, play Pacific Rift too, so nostalgic these games are to me as well, used to play a lot
Epic throwback! 🤩 I'm in the process of getting all of the Motorstorm games. Got myself a launch PS3 so can play PS1 & PS2 games. Such a good time. Great video! 💯🙏🏽
Oh dear god, this is too nostalgic for me to cry on. My brother n I love this game. Thx for showcasing on behalf of my memory lane.
This video game was my middle school life
Burnout Paradise...by far one of my favorites
I loved the surf island expansion, so many references to 80s British television 😂
Pacific rift was pure chaos and i loved it. It always has been cemented in my childhood playing it as a kid with my sister. The music, explosions, crashes, graphics. It was amazing. I really hope he plays it.
This was my childhood and I've seen it pop up a few times lately on different platforms alongside youtube, which makes me really happy tbh
Bro! U unlocked me a core memory!!!!! I had this vague memory of a cool ass game I've played when i was like 6yo....never remered the name of this piece of art!
I have this game, and It was the game that got me into racing games as a kid, such nostalgia watching you play this
Bro I was JUST telling my wife that absolutely nobody talks about this game. This was the first game I got when I got my ps3 for xmas that year. So good
INSTANTLY recognized the helmet in the thumbnail. This game was so so good. I remember I had the demo and probably had 100 hours played on that alone.
I remember seeing this game hooked up to a Ps3 when they launched and little me was enamored with it, look at the mud and water droplets hitting the screen, look at the awesome crash physics. It was just absolutely blowing my mind. I played the heck out of this whenever we did manage to get our own console and copy.
Im just now seeing this post. I love Motorstor series! So underrated, I feel. I still play this today. I wish I had friends around where I live who was into racers as I am. This game has great destruction mechanics, graphics r still awesome after all these years. Recent rumors suggest and hint of a possible motorstorm reboot. I hope so! Love the video post!
Thank you! Thank you! Thaaaannnnk youuu! For giving my favorite another chance to see the spotlight!!
This just brought me a good ol' flashback. I played this game once and forgot about it for over 13 years (didn't even know the game). It was great for sure!
Oh god I played this non stop on the PS3. Ahh the nostalgia your video just let me feel is insane ❤
I'm 36 and seeing the main menu then the first track brought me back to when I first played it. I still have most of the tracks memorized. I even made My PSN icon be the motor storm logo when the game came out. So it's something that will stick with me until the end of time.
And I do remember this game being hard at certain points. I know there was a race where you had to use mud diggers against big rigs, that took me days to beat, but it felt great finally winning the race bc it was the last gold I needed.
Thank you for the memories, hoping to see about upload
PLEASE play more of this! This is one of the best games ever made
I played this game with my cousin on his PS3, i was 8 years old then now im 21.. Nostalgia hits hard, thank u man!
huge throw back I had forgotten about this game thanks for the nostalgia
i love that Motor Storm is have a resurge in interest. if you can and you have the ability you should really emulate it on RPCS3 and see all that the community has created/done and the best part is they still hold their own online events.
This is the game of my childhood, thanks for bringing some memories back!
Motorstorm was a great series. I never owned a Playstation console when I was younger but i did buy a PSP and bought Motorstorm Arctic Edge. Was a lot of fun.
this was actually my first ever racing gem cause my mom and who i thought was my dad had it for a long time my entire childhood and i would play it for hours on end not even knowing there was hundreds of other games, i honestly remember every party of the maps and cars
I remember getting the ps3 on release for Christmas and playing this for the first time after coming from the original Xbox. The intro blew me and my parents away, I need this game back 😢
Any old console racing game is amazing, and I will never not watch a video on one. One of the games that I played when I was a kid was Smuggler's Run for the PS2, and I would love to see someone else play it. Loved the video, thanks!
just found your channel from the expeditions video, already loving your vids man! MotorStorm was soooo sick back in the day! You should check out the Flatout 1 and Flatout 2 next
The first racing game I really played day and night was Destruction Derby Arenas. Had a good style of racing and death match career mode, lots of unlocks and backstories as well as a banger soundtrack
Motorstorm 1 is such a vibe! My first ps3 game, it obsessed me and made me love extreme sports and offroad
This franchise need a huge comeback omg forever one of the classics
Man. I remember when you could play these at the displays at Walmart and whatnot. Loved it.
I remember going to my friends house playing Pacific Rift for hours and end up spending the night because i didnt wanna go home to stop playing. If you could play it than im sure myself amd several others would be on an absolute nostalgia trip and would love to see it!
my first console was a PS3 and the first game i got was motor storm and i played it so much i knew the best routs and vehicles for those routs and the amount of nostalgia this game has for me is crazy, another one of my favorite PS3 games was blood drive i spent so many hours on both games.
This game was amazing when it first came out, I remember picking this up with my ps3 and playing many hours of this game over 2007
that was a nostalgia hit.. we jused to play this game at my friends house on playstation a lot back in the day.. was amazing.. kinda sad we lost touch growing up
I had the score international Baja 1000 game on the Wii and this just gave me huge nostalgia for that game. They look almost like the same game with similar mechanics too. I remember the boost in that game was just like this, maybe without the blowing up part
A classic throwback in the UK for me was Codemaster TOCA touring cars. I remember playing tag on it with friends and just destroying each others vehicles.
My first racing game was Road Rash on PC in the 90's, iconic. Then SEGA GT 2002, loved the upgrades and arcade feel, never felt it got respect that it deserved.
I loved trying to take the big rigs on bike trails or the smaller paths lol. I'd love to see some more Motorstorm content! Especially Pacific Rift!
Noooooo wayyyyy!!!!!! I haven’t seen this game since 2013 on my dad’s ps3!!!! I was only like 3 or 4 at the time i played it but I loved motorstorm. Truly nostalgic.
I loved this game back in the day! I’ve recently gone on a nostalgia trip and bought racedriver grid which is also awesome
one of my favorite games from the psp, I was blown away by how good it looked
I love this game! I've had it for quite a while, I haven't played it in a while but I'm probably gonna continue the campaign today.
As soon as I get some some more PS3 controllers I’m playing this game again , buying them just for this game, this game brought me so much joy when I was a kid, anywhere from 5-10, I remember playing it again when I was grounded for a bad grade on my report card so I was grounded for a week during a holiday week so I was bored home alone for a while, so I ended up remembering that we had the PS3 in my moms tv stand, so when everyone was gone I hooked it up and played the game for a couple hours every day, brings back so many good memories
I absolutely loved this game series, Pacific Rift being my favorite of the bunch, because of the tropic vibes. Would be awesome to see you play the rest!
Most underrated game series out there sad to see how slept on it is very ahead of its time, I grew up on this game still is my favorite till this day
Absolutely loved this game! Along side Driven To Destruction it was one of my favourites!
This... this game was my personal favorite to play and even now i still play it occasionally after unlocking all the vehicles
thank you Neil for playing one of my most favorite game of my childhood ❤
Ive been trying to find this game for so long, this game was such a blast when I was younger
This was the game I bought together with my PS3 when I picked it up! It's so amazing! Got so angry on the NPCs that defeated me!
I played tons of hours of this🙏🏾Loved it! They should bring it back to life. It would shxt on Forza and GT for sure!
i have motor storm pacific rift for my ps3 and i ended up buying a ps3 after mine kicked the bucket. so glad to see someone cover one of these forgotten yet golden games.
I had a PS2 way back when. ATV off-road fury was such a great game, and one of the early on best free roam games in my opinion.
finally someone talks about motorstorm, great memories sucks its dead tho.
Love it brings me back I played this game so much makes me wanna get my PS3 out and play it
I remember playing this game at game stop when they would have the consoles out so you could try games. And I remember being impressed by its graphics all those years ago.
i'm 33 years old and i still remember this game, man I had a blast playing this thing.
I loved this game and still have the game. Also for a throw back for PS3 Split/Second is also an awesome game that I still own.
Yooo Full Auto goes hard! Definitely looking forward to seeing that on the channel!
I remember playing this game, it was the game that came with my limited edition PS3 that was capable of playing both Ps1 and PS2 games which was huge for me (25yr now) and my older brother of 4 years. So this was the first PS3 game I ever played. I was so heartbroken when that PS3 died…
I was ADDICTED to Pacific rift as a kid. Fond memories of me and mum playing it till the disc worn out. So I'd love to see a video of that too 🤩
They need to remaster all of them because I grew up on these games back in elementary school. They were always my favorite games
Hey Neil. I remember this game so well from my childhood. There’s another game that i’d love to see on the channel, even though it’s not a car game i think you’d enjoy it. TimeSplitters 2 for the PS2 i reeeally recommend it
Tip 1: if you find a screen in game and pause your game, when you move your camera around, it moves in the screen as well.
Tip 2: if I remember correctly, you can repeatedly press boost instead of holding it to use it more efficiently.
And you kinda mentioned how different vehicles work better on different paths, you should do a video where you take the worst path the whole race and see if you can win
Remember when this came out. I was in Target and they had one of those demo setups. My dad stood there with me while I had my neck at a 90 degree angle to see the screen. So uncomfortable but I remember us going on and on about how realistic it looked. We thought it couldn't get better than that. And honestly, there are moments where I'm proven right. I miss those simple moments in life.
Oh my god you reignited a fire I haven’t seen in a long, long time.
