It is haram because it is a stepping stone towards shirk.....it makes sense to me. After watching his full 50 mins lecture I understood the position and makes complete sense. I was originally uncomfortable with the arguments against YQ but once I herd his full explanation it really made sense. It is extremely bad to approach calling enyone other than Allah as it's a gateway towards real shirk.

If they initially believed in Allah( one/indivisible) as a lord exclusively then why would they call upon saint((something other than Allah(the most exalted))Belief comes before the action. Yes, Jesus prayed sometimes with His face down, so do I and many Christians. But He also was praying in a sitting position sometimes or was looking to heaven while praying. He prayed to the Father, not in arabic, no recitations, no special day-times, no wudu, no muslim movements/performance.
And most important of all: Jesus told us how to pray. Its completly different than Muslims pray.

The book of hadith collection by Imam Al Daraqutni is a dedication to collating hadiths that are unreliable or fabricated. No Muslim genuinely believes what you just quoted. In fact, almost anything that is referenced from the works of Imam Al Daraqutni is questionable and unreliable.
Moreover, there are 6 recognised books of authentic and reliable hadith, and his Sunan is not one of them.

This is a nuanced discussion and sounds like YQ's position is quite sensible.
The majority is not necessarily proof, YQ keeps quoting the majority for his claim, the evidence that invoking or making dua to the dead for a need or benefit is an act of worship and that's the point, it's shirk without the intention, so YQ mentions sajdah for Allah facing the qiblah is an act of worship, what about sajdah to an idol without the intention of worshiping it as a god, then that's not shirk either according to his methodology? it would be interesting to see whether YQ considers any act to be shirk at all by itself without an intention accompanying it, the problem is, this is what the Murjiah hold to as well. I don't doubt his sincerity may Allah bless him, but the 'majority' are also immersed in biddah and practices of shirk.
Intention still matters, because the Prophet (PBUH) said "actions are with their intention", for example an insane person who makes a statement of shirk isn't thereby called a mushrik because he has no intention due to his insanity, however the people who go to the grave still have the intention to request their need from the dead person which is itself shirk in intention and action, whether they say it is because Allah will fulfil their need or not.

The title is misleading which made me click this video. This is completely misrepresenting what yasir qadhi is saying. Yasir is not saying that "worshiping a grave is not shirk". He is saying that asking a deceased person to pray to allah for him is not shirk. Even though asking a deceased person to pray for you is something which yasir qadhi doesn't agree that people should do anyway.

These are not contradictions. Ask The Creator for truth and guidance regarding purpse of life and The Creator. Have open mind and heart and start from The beginning of The Qur'an.
