  • In this episode I talk with autism recruitment company Auticon and some of their consultants.
    auticon.co.uk/
What is an appointment is a massive area of concern as there are many Autisitc people not in work and many other Autistic people who are desperate for work.
Auticon is one company trying to bridge the gap in the market between unemployed, autistic individuals and employers who would embrace their individuality and unique skill set.
This conversation covers how Auticon works, and how the consultant who are hired through Auticon experience the company.
Please let me know your thoughts, always, happy to hear more.

I know someone IRL who works for Auticon, and I think they've changed her life for the better.

Something like this in America? Love the idea of the job coach talking first with the employers.

As an autistic person who has ADHD as well I've worked in call centers for the last 3 to 4 years but in a NT world so I totally understand the burnt out feeling after work and doing a reset on days off to prepare for the next day of work. I would've never known this type of company/business existed had I not found it on your channel Dan so thank you for sharing! 🥰

How do you manage? I tried working a call center and there was just to much background noise to process. Couldn’t hear anyone on the phone over everyone else around me.

@@derekoverhage9180 I agree and feel the same, since doing the call center jobs but work from home has helped alot with it. I unfortunately still get bored within 3 to 4 months of working since it's the same thing every day so I've tried to do UberEats on the side since driving in my car and listening to music helps calm me 😊

Are the coaches NT or autistics? I am an autistic adult who is great at coaching and has quite a good understanding of computers. I am also trying to get off disability from a burnout/shutdown after working for years in a company that didn't understand my autistic traits. I was one of 10 top reps in that company and was a training coach.

Amazed of your progress, Dani! Like, really I'm thinking to suggest "managing the interaction via u-tube and other social media" as much as the "prework before loading any content" as a "must" for ppl (nt or not), who find it difficult to communicate in person. U're an example that they can not only star shine at a very taugh working field but also to have a wonderful family and their life on track altogether! Wishing u Happy Holidays and whtv best is yet to come!

Me too. I work at Walmart and know that I make people uncomfortable. I'm out on leave of absence right now. Busted my ankle. Missing to much work . Worried I won't have the job anymore. Once I'm healed.

@@Donnashaunted they only help with IT jobs and i believe you need at least 2 years experience in the field. So it only helps autistics that have held down jobs with out auticon. The guy who runs the company lead the biggest bankruptcy in German history.

"Neurodiversity" is not about "diversity". It's about telling middle-class kids on the Spectrum that getting the vocational training they should take isn't "middle-class" enough and that they instead should go to college and get a degree they are totally unsuitable for.

Are there any Auticon agencies in the US? Are they just located and help people in the UK? I don't have a degree in computer science but I do have a Masters in Business, I wonder if they need anyone like that?

Genuinely curious on why you call yourself “Aspie” considering that it’s not only a term that is outdated and no longer used as term to identify ASD with but also because it’s offensive. Considering that Hans Asperger, the man in which this was coined after, was a literal nazi who collaborated in the murder of several children with disabilities.
I’m neurotypical, however my children both have ASD. I recommend that if you’re going to try to educate other individuals on ASD and what it is, that you educate yourself first. I don’t know your story, but it’s pretty common knowledge in the special needs community that Asperger’s is no longer a valid or recognized term.
