    I want to thank you for all the info and tips you so freely share. Not saying anything about the photography and the story telling - that is in the eye of the beholder. Cheers.

    I've been following this build for a while now. Thank you for sharing your experiences and modifications with your 200. So, that we'll know what to do with ours.

    I have the same tyres on my 200 done about 25,000 km in them. Except for real muddy conditions (and they're not true muddie) i can't fault them either.
    Nice to see a longer video

    I was wondering about the starter motor, we did the same thing, replaced it back at Cairns, just a fault Toyota should have fixed years ago, great video.

    Nice drive out of Palm Creek, I’ve seen people have to winch that line without trailers

    Thx for the great video and reviews. I also have a Richard auto lockup kit installed. So I am very interested in the transmission remap. Can you share a bit more on that pls?

    • @austimages
      @austimages  2 роки тому

      I've had it for 2 years now, and love it. The transmission will now change to 6th at ~93km/h under light throttle. Holds 5th and 6th longer under higher loads, and the shift quality when the lockup is engaged is smoother (as it applies torque reduction during changes). They can also enable 5th and 6th in low range, although I decided against that. Contact Richards for more details and to find out where you can have it done.

    Great trip, any trouble with water entering the cabin during the creek crossings?

      After Nolan's the carpet inside the back doors was slightly damp. But dried out within a day.

    I only have 2 more thing's left to do upper control arms need fitting after putting a set a 33 Mickey Thompson Baja tyres on and the last will be a visit to Richards Auto's in SA to have a torque converter installed and remapping of the gear box

    How did your alternator fare with all the water crossings or are you running a sealed unit?

    • @austimages
      @austimages  5 років тому

      No problems with the alternator

      @@austimages I've made up a canvas cover to tie over the bullbar to create a bow wave & air pocket behind the grill so water doesn't drive the fan into the back of the radiator, it doubles as a ground sheet. Lucky the 200's windows were up on one of those crossings & I hope the van was well sealed... Kids, you've got the bottom bunks tonight.

    Great video to watch as a fellow VDJ200 owner and to see what it can do so easily even with a trailer! So are you still able to run the same setting maps on the UniChip with the remap of the Trans software or did have to remap both?

    • @austimages
      @austimages  5 років тому

      No change is required to the Unichip. Although having said that, soon after the trip Unichip swapped my Q4 with a new Uni-X (upcoming video about that). No problems with either version.

    If they bridge the Jardine? Not only do they take away the experience of it and having a knowledgeable conversation with a local indigenous person, Wichita is fantastic on its own! But it would take away those guys& gals, jobs? Let alone the money the locals need to help threw out there communities!
