  • On November 28, 1943 President Franklin D. Roosevelt, British Prime Minister Winston Churchill and Soviet leader Josef Stalin met in Tehran during World War II.
    Tehran is the setting for another Anglo-American-Soviet Conference. Mr Churchill, President Roosevelt and Marshal Stalin met in the Persian capital to discuss strategies. ® ® At the Soviet Embassy Mr Churchill presented the Sword of Stalingrad to Marshal Stalin, a tribute to the defenders of the heroic city. ® ® During the Conference Mr Churchill celebrated his 69th birthday and was presented with gifts from the officers and men stationed at the Conference.

    Notice how it's the Soviets creating the turning point in the war. History happens, interpretations change.

      @@pyramidblack but the Soviets weren't a democracy? and the way they won the war was sending alot of inadequate soldiers, which is why they had the highest military death count out of every country in ww2, and they only fought a war on one front.

      It was two-pronged, the turning point of the war. One was the Soviets at Kursk and other places and I will give them credit, the other was the Italian Campaign by America and Britain. Italy was huge because it knocked out Hitler's top ally, opened up a new front, and thus relieved pressure on the Soviets because German troops now had to be diverted to fight off this big new threat. Another significant prong to the turning point is that 1943 is when British and American bombers truly began mass raiding German industries, hampering their war machine.
