They deserve their gold medals. Suni literally practiced with a bucket next to her for when she got sick. Simone had to overcome her trauma and mental health. Jordan had to work through injuries. Also to add that Jade is sick right now and still killing it. Not sure about what she is talking about with work ethic but I'm pretty sure their work ethic is up to par based on all of that.

With MyKayla she was also abused and it creates this weird world view that because she went through it and survived that others must go through it as well otherwise they don’t meet the same requirement that they had. It is a very warped view as no one needs to be treated badly to achieve actual results. Work ethic isn’t something that needs to be achieved through be yelled at and made to feel worthless. Work ethic can be achieved even better through kindness and encouragement.

Note she says in her apology she wasn't targeting the team but she did actually. She literally said, "Besides Biles...." She excluded Biles but was clearly talking about the rest of the team. She shouldn't be disparaging anyone anyway. Especially her peers. Dumb move.

She sounds like my ex boyfriend when I called him out on things he said and he would tell me I misunderstood him and that’s not what he meant 🙄. If Mikayla was talking about the girls at her gym, she would have literally said such words. But no, she meant the current team and is only backpedaling cuz people aren’t reacting like how she expected.
Suni doesn't have a name to her. She's the girl that fell twice and still ended up 2nd at trials. She purposely called hezley, Haze-ly and Henzley despite her two live videos having her husband correct her like 100 times that her name was Hezley and not henzley or haze-ly.
I actually love that Simone took it so personally on behalf of her teammates. She’s a good friend and an OG💪🏼
What's so funny to me was Simone ONLY cared enough to do this because Skinner attacked the other girls. If she'd attacked Simone herself, she prob would have said nothing at all. That's how she's responded to past criticism, but attack her friends/fam? She's viscous, and I love it.

There are a lot of doubles standards flying in these comments. We don't expect our elite male athletes to take disparaging remarks with kindness and aplomb. They are allowed and even expected to have a response to disrespect. MyKayla made her remarks about Team USA while the team was in the height of their competition and Olympic selection. She has the right to her opinion and those elite athletes have the right to respond to her, especially after clenching team gold. Lastly, as a team leader, Simone should respond because she is the most seasoned and highly decorated. As the leader, you don't let others disparage your teammates.
Stop acting like women athletes need to have grace. They aren't royalty, they are elite athletes. They work hard, they battle injuries, illnesses and personal setbacks to be the best in the world. They don't have to take anybody's disrespect.

I‘m honestly disappointed in the behavior of Simone - and quite frankly the entire team. Mykayla very much lacks self awareness and made some really stupid comments that I won’t excuse. But she’s been piled on by thousands of people for several weeks already, whose responses were far nastier than anything Myk had said. She’s been called every name in the book and she has apologized. Mykayla was a victim of abuse herself and clearly didn’t process this yet. There’s holding someone accountable and then there is ganging up on someone and kicking them when they’re already down. This kind of pettiness is not a good look. I was really hoping for a bit more grace and maturity.
Yup takes away from Biles supposed greatness. I don’t respect her as a person despite how many medals she has won during a weak era where no formidable rivals are present. And when there a potential rivals, Simone quits and blames the twisties.
