The placement of two defenders on each post is a bit outdated now. It has been statistically proven that putting two bodies on each post takes two players out of the equation and makes them stationary and likely to switch off. Also, the stats show that it's the center of the goal that is more likely to be at its weakest because it's the second or third ball that is the most likely to score, therefore you need the additional two guys who would have normally stood on each post out and ready to close the opposition and stop the 2nd or 3rd balls from threatening the goal.
