This is wonderful! This is when television and entertainment was a good thing and could be shared as a family together. The values of kindness, family and friendship with worship of God are an all but forgotten rarity now. Hate and criminality with a mad striving for wealth and materialism rules the day. Seeing this show is proof that love if we choose it can make all the difference.
This is marvelous - pure Red Skelton. What a wonderful show he put on. His show was full of wonderful characters who always gave us pause. And he always closed with "May God bless." ❤❤🙏🙏
Say Merry Christmas to your dad for me as I was in that group too.Just found this tonite. Red Skelton was as great guy. He treated us as brothers.. He paid the dancers overtime to sit with us and visit during the taping.
Wow, what a different time. Sort of defines the word 'wholesome'. Red has some crackerjack one-liners lol. Greer's speech in the benefit show was so awesome. Would sound totally 'corny' now but was real and down-to-earth back then. What a different time.
I guess Freddy was too proud to live on welfare. This character reminded me of a real person that I thought was homeless. She took ever thing with her and carried most of it on a grocery cart, but was a very nice person. It turned out that she was on social security was was too scared to stay home and leave her stuff at home .She must have been in a bad neighborhood .
That episode showed that gentrification is not new . Those two bad characters earlier before they reformed ,remind me ,possibly, owners of the Cinerama dome in Hollywood, not reopening it,possibly using the bankruptcy as an excuse to down size in there theater chain to increase greedy profit ,in the name of slowing covid down ,maybe e ,if that is the owners motivation for not reopening the theater museum. may be.

Greer is always a joy to watch! Love her so much!
Loved Greer Garson and how she narrated the stop motion animation of: The Little Drummer Boy.
Such a classy lady...

Was the audience laughter added later?
