This is the first time I’m watching this beautiful woman I mean this show and Arlene looks very beautiful I mean the meal looks good. The revolution has already begun.
Girl I love your style of cooking, the way you explain and the fact that you understand salt brings out the flavour in food BUT the way you pour your salt frightens me... my eyebrows always raise. Love your channel!
Compared to the other trini cooking channels, your cooking is so much better and healthier. Kudos to you. You deserve more subs. You cater to international and local audiences alike.
Glad you cleared the calaloo question. In Jamsica it us a different green. We use the dashern top to make pepperpot soup. I enjoy your tutorials. You taught me a new way to make burnt sugar.
Great video ....I prefer to pick the dasheen leaves fresh due to getting tough ones that were packaged ....also although these packaged items were probably washed before, I prefer to wash them thoroughly for myself.
25CreativeGirl Arlene I would love to know how to make green fig pie. Is it basically the same way as macaroni pie but instead of the macaroni we use green fig? Love to see how u would make it, u are the best thanking u in advance.
While callaloo bush and dasheen bush is the same item. We differentiate based on what we wanna cook with the bush. Callaloo bush is the young rolled bush that melts to make ur callaloo that you don't even have to blend or swizzle it. Dasheen bush is the older bush that u use to make "bhagi" that usually have a thicker consistency than callaloo. So they are different technically.
Girl, you still do it to me....LOVED IT! you held that knife to cut the pie like you had a bad boyfriend experience. But I tasted everything you cooked, as you took me back to Nostalgia Lane. What won't I do for a plate of food like that now?
my way for this same dish layer of macaroni then chheese then macaroni again more cheese n then milk a whole box carnation milk n my pie dooes be perfect
My my that looks so 😋 delicious 😋 I know that meal in my Callalou I use Crab and sometimes 🐖 tail you do not but I will surely try it your way with the rest of the others good job 👍 love ❤️ it Thanks
Love your Food channel, always wanted to know how how to make oil down, don't know how to buy breadfruit even though we had a tree in Trinidad that I took for granted, I don't think we get the best in New York, thanks for teaching. I've never used garlic in mac. pie. I fry a very small amt. of onions till brown then blend it with the egg/milk mix. learned that from the Italian cooks.
So happy I found your channel,Im on a marathon watching your videos, now done watch the provisions, coo coo and fish video,im obsessed already...love from Trinidad😘

Hello.. I used pimento or flavouring peppers in the pie. This is not always easy to get internationally but you can leave it out and your pie should be fine as well.
I can't cook, so following your instructions are easy and helpful however you do need to give me some time frames, e.g, how long to bake the macaroni pie and how long to leave the beef on the stove.. Thanks
I am happy it has been helpful. Typically the pie is in the oven at 350 degrees until golden brown at the top. Try to bake in a dish about 3 inches deep. Cook the beef until soft .. but don't add too much water to cook it. Just a little at a time til it's cooked soft
Thanks, next time I'm home, which should be in the summer, I'll definitely stop by, maybe everyday. Your food looks really tasty. Can't wait. See you soon.
Thanks you and I am very happy to hear you have been able to learn from the videos. My hair and my jewelry are a part of my style for the show, however in my professional cooking I do where to all health and safety practices. It's similar to the food network way. The chef have their style but when in a professional setting they are well outfitted. It's just tv my dear.
Jason Belgrave it can be done eggless ... but this is how I learned and I do my traditions on the show.. keep following in will get into variations. And feel free to reach out here in the comments with your questions.
It is a Pyrex,it is a Pyrex dish ,..I grew all my life with my Grandmother calling it a Pryex, she would turnover in her grave to hear it is now it’s just a dish 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅.

Your hair is amazing, what is your routine?
Where can I get to buy the bag of Callaoo bag that you using in the program
She is in Tobago. They have it like that in the grocery
Looks delicious and an easy version of the macaroni pie. A nicer plating for the rice would be to use a small bowl or ramekin shape for appearance..
Please use a wooden soon when cooking with a enamel pot or pan.
People usually add butter, black pepper and mustard in the mix with that pie a must have...
Gosh I wish you had the ingredients listing below
Like ur vibes

I was told by my older sister that it holds everything together.
I make eggless pie and it holds just fine
I use flour instead of eggs, it holds fine
