The Chorus is so epic. I am stunned by how Rhapsody Of Fire sounds different than their previous albums even though people expect something similar to the previous albums. Yes, this is an epic storyline thing. Yes, it's really, really loud. Yes, it deserves it's own mini movie. But the thing that made me laugh was the fact that the melody of 4th movement of Beethoven's Sonata in F minor, Op. 2 No. 1 is featured at 7:15 and towards the end 14:22. Thank Beethoven for my view of the video, because that's how I found this song.

RoF also has a song that lenghts about 35 min 44 sec, The Cold Embrace of Fear. It's a song made by 7 acts (well, really are 7 songs that make a longer, full song) and it's a real master piece of Heavy Metal, higly recommended. That song really seems to be a film.

one of the things i most like of the Italians (Rhapsody) is that they can took extracts or some structures from classical repertoire or the texts from misae or dies irae but they don't pretend to do a metal version copy of them like other bands do (shitting the real scores of the works), they only use them as part of their own compositions!!!!
It's both art and music, the only difference between this and nearly every other modern artist is that most modern artists are entertainers, not musicians :-)

@Sazalamel1 You need the booklet to understand it all. There's a whole story behind this song : the war of the people of the Enchanted Lands against the demons from the Northern lands, the eclipse, Iras, Dargor, Etherus and Lothen hurrying to place the eyes on the statue and Thanor (well, that's in the song but not totally), Etherus' sacrifice, Dargor changing his mind upon the will of Erian... the whole ending is missing. You have to read it all to understand...!
@donlucx Fortunatly, Luca stated in a interview that they won't be giving up on fantasy topics, as that always defined Rhapsody. He also went on about mythology, sci-fi, (Think Luca's Prophet of the Last Eclipse.) and Medieval subjects. I doubt another saga will be made, but I hardly seeing them changing drastically.

Yes, this is an epic storyline thing. Yes, it's really, really loud. Yes, it deserves it's own mini movie.
But the thing that made me laugh was the fact that the melody of 4th movement of Beethoven's Sonata in F minor, Op. 2 No. 1 is featured at 7:15 and towards the end 14:22.
Thank Beethoven for my view of the video, because that's how I found this song.
Same here. I can't wait for the reissue of their debut album. The Serpent's Kiss and The Victory Dance are amazing enough already, but with real drums and remastered audio, the album will be killer!

one of the things i most like of the Italians (Rhapsody) is that they can took extracts or some structures from classical repertoire or the texts from misae or dies irae but they don't pretend to do a metal version copy of them like other bands do (shitting the real scores of the works), they only use them as part of their own compositions!!!!

@Sazalamel1 You need the booklet to understand it all. There's a whole story behind this song : the war of the people of the Enchanted Lands against the demons from the Northern lands, the eclipse, Iras, Dargor, Etherus and Lothen hurrying to place the eyes on the statue and Thanor (well, that's in the song but not totally), Etherus' sacrifice, Dargor changing his mind upon the will of Erian... the whole ending is missing. You have to read it all to understand...!

@donlucx Fortunatly, Luca stated in a interview that they won't be giving up on fantasy topics, as that always defined Rhapsody. He also went on about mythology, sci-fi, (Think Luca's Prophet of the Last Eclipse.) and Medieval subjects. I doubt another saga will be made, but I hardly seeing them changing drastically.
