Wonderful narration ! Fast ballers are crazy in the first place. Balling fast takes so much practice and stress on the whole body but when we look at the number of wickets taken or the number of runs given, it all seems pointless. But the passion in fast ballers makes it all worth it. Even when fast ballers are on the same team, there is always a competition b/w them.
Both you were tremendous lightning fast bowler late 90/2000 Era. My all time favourite bowler was Shane warne the master class of leg spin. I used to watch Australia matches because of Shane Warne.
The only issue with Shoaib was his fitness and consistancy. He was like a machine gun.. He was best used by Wasim as a captain for 3 or 4 overs and then taken off. Making sure that the barrel cools down and the opponent does not get used to the speed. In longer number of overs, he was bit all over the place. The speed did not drop but the balls were flying everywhere via the bat or on their own.

Bret you and Shoib both were genuine fast bowlers. Both were terrifying and had skills too. It’s pleasure to hear you about Shoib Akhter. Love from Pakistan
Of all the sights in cricket, nothing was scarier and more thrilling than a young in his prime Akhtar steaming in from beyond the 30-yard line and launching those Exocets. Brett Lee was similar but looked more methodical and refined. Akhtar was like a storm let loose.
I remember when I heard about him I didn't give a damn and I kept ignoring him. I thought my friends were joking, praising him all the time. But, when I saw him bowling for the first time he was a beast. He bowled very quick.
Yep you two blokes had us all on the edge of our seats whenever you bowled! Hilarious story hearing how terrifying that speed is even for someone such as yourself! Haha Atleast all the fellas that you scared the socks off would of had a laugh!
He forgot to mention fellow Australian Shaun Tait who was very close in speed as well. Then there was Mohammad Sami who could also bowl near 160. What an era to be a batsman! 😀
I was not expecting such shocking comments from any Australian but u made. This is what the gesture which could only bring from the greatest bowler of history who doesn't believe on racism or nation but lover of cricket. Brett Lee we love u u have won our hearts that no other shortsighted and self centered did ever before.
Brett Lee, you were not too far off in terms of pace, one of the best ! It was the Golden Era of fast bowling with you and Shoaib Akhtar throwing those thunder bolts ! What a sight it used to be !
Shoaib and you were the fastest in those days, but Brett I will go with Shoaib...never seen a monstrous of a fast bowler in cricketing history... However, love you both guys . That's the beauty of sports be it soccer / cricket ,we appreciate in what we done for the sport 🤘
The smoothness of the runup of Brett Lee cannot be beaten. I wonder why no one has ever made that comparison. Brett used to launch missiles with such swift and elegant runup which is baffling to me to date. A true warrior!
Spot on mate. Agreed to every bit of what you have mentioned here. Akhtar was like a loose cannon but Lee was smooth like makkhan. However, I loved to watch both of them bowled, my man is Lee anyday. We can never have bowlers like these dudes in future. Our Bumrah is one heck of a bowler yet not very attractive. We have quite a few bowlers bowling 160 plus yet no one is a sight to behold when bowling like Lee, Shoaib, Wasim, Vaas, Steyn, Waqar, Ambrose and of course Alan Donald and even our very own Zaheer and Srinath who also had smooth bowling actions.
I believe there is no cricket lover in India who did not try to copy Brett Lee's bowling style. I almost perfected it way back in childhood but clearly not my cup of chai🤣🤣 p.s. dear Lee, you have inspired many Indians. Thank you!
Hahaha same here lekin main action ke bawajood bamushkil 70-80 KPH hi phenk paata tha. Utna to hamara Kumble aur Afridi phenk lete they. No wonder I was subjected to ridicule then 😂
Living legend talking about another legend. Love from Bangladesh for both of you. I wish we had pacers like you. Hope one day Bangladesh will also get someone like you.
And Tendulkar got to face extreme fast bowler in his days like of Shoaib Akhtar, Brett Lee, Allan Donald, Waqar Younis, Courtly Ambrose etc Both Virat and Rohit Sharma are no where near the class of Tendulkar.
Brett, it’s great that you are putting your heart out here for posterity. Still think about how awed I was as a youngster to meet you in Mumbai airport right after missing a flight, which more than made up or it. And unlike our poor overhyped Indian cricketers, you didn’t rush while your entourage backed up and gave room to the crazy fan 😁. I can never forget the image of you walking around looking immaculately dressed like James Bond and just the size of your hands 😂, that makes the ball look like a marble! You gave time. Look up to you always. Cheers 🍻✨.

Of all the sights in cricket, nothing was scarier and more thrilling than a young in his prime Akhtar steaming in from beyond the 30-yard line and launching those Exocets. Brett Lee was similar but looked more methodical and refined. Akhtar was like a storm let loose.
One of the best - coolest comments on social media. Man your writing is beautiful. 😊
You are an absolute legend, I see Aussies are big hearted nation . Thanks for sharing great stories ❤️❤️❤️👏👏👏👏
THAT'S WHY THE TENDULKAR IS GREATEST EVER. HE FACED THE SWIFTEST LEE, AKHTAR, BOND.
THE SKILLED AKRAM, YOUNIS, MCGRATH, POLLACK, DONALD, VAAS, ANDERSON, AMBROSE, WALSH, STYEN, BROD. THE GREATEST SPINNERS WARNE, MURALI, SAQLAIN, VETTORI.
Yes u r right 👍
Kallis was better
Har baat pe Sachin?
True
You are such a humble person to appreciate your competitor. You both are great legends
I remember when I heard about him I didn't give a damn and I kept ignoring him. I thought my friends were joking, praising him all the time. But, when I saw him bowling for the first time he was a beast. He bowled very quick.
Awesome! That's neutral & pure cricketing tells about legend from legend...
Salute to Great *Shoieb Akhter*
Yep you two blokes had us all on the edge of our seats whenever you bowled! Hilarious story hearing how terrifying that speed is even for someone such as yourself! Haha Atleast all the fellas that you scared the socks off would of had a laugh!
I have been a fan of the cricketer Brett Lee. Today I became a fan of the person Brett Lee. Such a nice, honest and humble man. 👌
He forgot to mention fellow Australian Shaun Tait who was very close in speed as well. Then there was Mohammad Sami who could also bowl near 160. What an era to be a batsman! 😀
That was good Mr. Lee. Love your spirit! You and Michael Bevan are my favourites.
Thanks mate. Shoaib Akhtar is the fastest and scariest ever. Brett wasn’t that terrifying.
Bret Lee himself bowled at 161.1 or 161.2 kmph. Marginally behind Shoaib. Both are legends. Glad to have watched in their peak era.
Cricket was magic that time ❤
Agree
Crct
He is our proud ! Superbly justifiable appreciation !! Laughed about a yorker storey 😃
I love shoib Akhtar ❤️❤️❤️❤️ King 🤴 of speed 🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰🇵🇰
I almost perfected it way back in childhood but clearly not my cup of chai🤣🤣
p.s. dear Lee, you have inspired many Indians.
The era of real fast bowling.
Always loved to see both of you knocking down the stumps. Lots of love mate from India
And Tendulkar got to face extreme fast bowler in his days like of Shoaib Akhtar, Brett Lee, Allan Donald, Waqar Younis, Courtly Ambrose etc
Both Virat and Rohit Sharma are no where near the class of Tendulkar.
And great spinners too...
Love you Lee, down to earth and genuine - you were the best too bro! God bless
Cheers 🍻✨.
'Poor overhyped Indian cricketers' Very well..putting down your own cricketers to appear cool.
@@DeeeKay Denying what's true does not make you cool buddy. Tashan aur ads banaane mein hamaari team no. 1 hai. Fact hai. Yeh cool waala agenda aapka hoga. I love cricket. I love the way SL kicked the smugness out of our Tashan boys. A well deserved medicine before the WC. They might even do better because of it. India is not my team. Whoever plays good cricket is my team even if it is Pakistan. Process that my friend.
@@DeeeKay well, isn't he is true?
@@humanvoice369 Right bro, i mean ofcourse my team is India, but they are getting overhyped bcz of IPL, it's like they are overrated in India
@@humanvoice369 you wrote when you were young, so it means that you're not talking about the present team India I guess. It was probably around 2005-06 you're talking about. And that was a great team. You absolutely cannot belittle them.
And fyi, I appreciate the skills of Pak cricketers but I certainly cannot support them, even if we lose by 1000 runs. And winning one tournament rn doesn't make SL great, India has won it 7 times already.
Love from Pakistan🇵🇰 Bret❤️ and huge fan of yours🙌🏾❤️
Pakistan has fast bowling power house ❤️❤️

I love both of you Legends and had loved to watch both at the time you both were playing. Both are amazing storytellers. Lots of respect to the amazing game and its legendary players.
One legend talking about another legend.
Brett lee my fav bowler respect from pak.🙏🙏🙏
Love you Brett, you should write a book. Your storytelling is outstanding
You are too generous champ. You were equally lethal, infact more than him. I've seen you bowling and India loosing some of the crucial matches even though India had one of the best batting lineups. Love and respect for U. 🧡❤️🧡
hahahah not equal shoaib is 161.4
@@slimshady744 161.3 km/h for lee, gadhe ke gadhe hi rahoge 😂😂😂

Bret Lee The Man,The Myth, The Legend Himself, Love you brother from Pakistan
