This is extremely helpful. I had a fuse box go bad and I have an entire harness I need to swap in on the interior side. Now I can see how everything sets in there. My comfort level went up 100 percent!
A million thanks Joe~! Your video is a lifesaver for us guys just getting involved with out CUCV's and it outta be added to the Steel Soldiers site for all to reference--- excellent job~! My old M1008 was toddling along just fine until I dared to slay those little demons behind the instruments panel... well, after fixin' a couple things all happy like, I realized that somehow I managed to make a few other circuits quit working resulting in no voltage and no blown fuses--- right then I knew it was time for the much dreaded dash pull--- ARGH~! However, your vid sure gave me the confidence to tackle it and while I'm at it will be adding some other electronic goodies inside the dash area to boot. Thanks again Joe~! BRAVO~!
Can anyone tell me orientation of wiring plug going into gauge cluster? Color of wires on top or bottom? My clip goes in either way.. Other question is I can find light bulbs but not black clips for gauge cluster part number possibly it the?
I just picked up an '86 M1009, I need to replace the Dash Pad also, where did you get your replacement? Will a K5 Blazer Dash Pad work? Any information will help. Thank you!
+jugeton0823 I got mine from LMC. The ones I ordered came in black and I use paint/dye to color match. The were not an "exact" fit for me. It is a little off on the driver side. It's almost as if it is molded a bit long. I ordered 2 for 2 different trucks and they fit the same. I called LMC thinking they sent the wrong year but they swear I got what I needed. It could be the installer though :) And yes, I think the k5 blazer is the same with the exception of the a/c vent locations.
hey survival . you didn't mess up the install. saw a professional restorer install these dash pads and they all do that on the top drivers side corner , even he didn't know why other than there manufactured that way. great vid lots of help .
