On board 1, I overcalled the spade with 1NT and followed up with 2H, which won the contract. Went down three, but was still 100% board. Like the 1c opening on 7. Board 8, I also bid 4d got doubled and went down 1, but it was still a 68% board. Why is the 7D the beer card?
On the umpteenth replay I also overcalled 1NT. One opp doubled, the other wouldn't sit on it, and they ended up in the hopeless 5D. Wonder how Hanoi and his gang handled it :-)
@@BridgeWithPete Nope, still a club back. I also tried cashing the ace of spades and then underleading the hearts hoping to induce it to get a count. That time I got a spade back. The best score I got was to cash my four tricks :-) May be I should peek at Hanoi's video?
I led the queen and then underled the next heart. Partner ducked it and the dummy's 10 won the trick! I actually didn't even notice until watching this recap that partner had the jack...apparently there is no way to successfully defeat this one (with a robot partner).
Good video as always Peter! On board 4 opponents can't be sure if North has 4 hearts or spades I think. I ran all 4 clubs and Q of spades and West discarded his 4th heart for an extra trick. I also had a weird interaction with the robot on board 5. Where I just cashed the A of clubs ehen you did and didn't continue clubs. The robot was sure I must hold the A of diamonds to have enough HCP for the double so they didn't cash the king of clubs for down 1. Also got into 5Cx -5 for -1100 but still 7,1 % on last board 😅
1. I overcalled 1NT, which led the opponents to try a hopeless 5D. 3. I don't get why you didn't cue bid here. You still don't get to slam, but at least you keep it in the picture. 8. I decided to bid 4D after the first takeout double. Let's just say it didn't go well and that's why you beat me this week. 😆
On board 8, I didn't think of a 2nd double, but that worked out really well. I do have some trouble with what the 2nd double means there. Takeout makes little sense in my mind because partner already gave a preferred suit. However, penalty also makes little sense since you already showed short spades with the takeout. Am I right in guessing that the second double shows a lot of values (similar to a 17+ double) with some defense?
Thanks. Lots of interesting comments.

Don't worry about the 1st hand. When replaying I tried underleading the heart honors. The robot partner won the jack, and played back a club!
Ha that's what I did. Club back.
haha I think I am happy I didn't suffer that fate. I wonder if leading the queen of hearts then under leading the hearts works.

It basically means I have a strong takeout but I haven't found a genuine fit yet. I have partial support for you and another place to play.
