it's definitely fef. remember how jane had a machine from betty crocker/ )(IC that could convert items into building grist? since it's being brought up here in the pre-scrached universe and both jane and feferi have ties to the emperess herself (in more ways than one), you can assume it's for sure feferi here and seeing as tavros is almost at the bottom of the hemospectrum, eridan the landwelling-genocide-enthusiast would be the least likely to help him out
sorry for spamming the shit out of the comments I just have to say that I think the point of pester quest is to not have any 'canon' plot move forward. instead, it's pester quest's plot that is slowly and steadily marching forth with every character's development. There doesn't have to be an epic stride storyline wise. I love Tavvy's good end. He got the home improvement confidence boost he needed, and stood up to Vriska to boot. I adore how well his route is written
