Ooh yes! Great idea! I’m 4ft 8 and there’s so much oversized stuff around that just makes me look like a weeble! (You have to be a certain age to remember “weebles wobble but they don’t fall down”!)
You have to be not only petite but slender. Otherwise it will drown out short women
@@lisbetsoda4874 I have to be careful because i have quite a slender frame on my top half but big boobs and wide hips. Tiny ish waist so if I don’t wear fitted styles on my top half I end up looking about 20 ibs heavier than I am
think this is by far the best tutorial on capsule wardrobe! It's inspiring to see how Trinny combines pieces she likes to wear (neon, sequin, metallics) with essentials like your usual pants and jeans and a pair of white trainers to create plenty of outfits

Usually I just don’t bother watching a capsule wardrobe video because they are so boring, the colour palette used is so dull. But not with you Trinny. Sparkles, shiny, neon love them all. Going to an afternoon tea next week and trying to find courage to wear my sequin blazer as everyone else that I know dresses safely😌

Love your response about retirement dressing - dress with passion every day. Really great video on how to build your capsule. I think people can blindly follow a formula and realise nothing suits them. Only way to really know is try on, research, Pinterest your body shape, mix thing together you would never normally consider. In the immortal word of Oliver Twist “please can I have some more”. Love all the looks but 67 still getting hot flashes started at 45 just lost my mom she lived a great life till 91 but still had hot flashes thanks mom and I have them all day all night so have to have a short sleeve top under what ever so I can strip down fast. Even in the winter so limits to my choices .Going back to sewing as cannot find any fun stuff and on a budget. Wish me luck been 25 years since I sewed any clothes .So hope create some of those great looks and not be Hot! Except maybe a hot Look!

"Dress with passion" I love that. NYC fashion has changed so much. Even in Spring if its 50 degrees out you will see majority wearing puffers and black shoes/sneakers. I never feel inspired when I commute and see how people dress these days. I understand times are tough but theres always ways to be creative with the budget and rework what we always had. Either stylish folks all WFH now or they migrated south for good..
Yes and the WFH thing has not done much for style! Hope people get more inspired when they come out of their caves.

Someone told me at work "this is dress down" I was wearing the H&M knit dress in bright🧡 but I had added a high neck shear top with long sleeves in the same colour with knee high brown boots, I replied to the comment this is me dress down I was in a bright colour that just lifts my mood this has become my most used colour 🧡🧡🧡🧡I try to incorporate it in my outfits for work as much as possible is it possible you can show different ways to wear orange in all its shades have been teaming it with grey, khaki beige is their other colours that compliment such a versatile colour as always Trinny you inspire to create stay blessed always 🙏🏼

I so hope that you are right about oversize having become a classic, if only because that means I can get coats that fit over sleeves, any sleeves, so I can keep cycling comfortably. I love it that increasingly “capsule wardrobe” means pieces that are essential to the wearer and not some assumed neutrality and or classic quality. You are essential to that shift.
So simple, but so impactful. Love it!
Love this closet confessions! really great!! Maybe my fav one after the coats one. Would like part 2 of jewelry and any help with summer dressing.....just get really confused because I like to be covered but not hot and tend to just wear a maxi dress all summer.

Thank you so much for this video! I'm refinding myself after a divorce. I want a capsule type wardrobe and I'm a mix of rock/boho and what I saw here was amazing!! I loved the glitter and shine and economy/sparseness of the pieces. It was classic enough for my work (freelance ESL teacher) and groovy enough for my taste. Yes! yes! yes!More videos like this please!!

I love these looks. I live in Texas, and layering 4 tops, is not possible, due to the heat. We can go from low 50’s in morning to 90’s in afternoon. Any suggestions for hotter weather?

Thanks Trinny, love your colourful capsule. I have a tiny wardrobe so at the moment got the lounge wear/ gym wear for every day. When I go out 20 jumpers including colourful and neutral, two dresses, three skirts, two pairs of trousers, five pairs of jeans. 14 basic tops that can be dressed up or down. I interchange the coats, jackets, blazers, handbags and shoes. As soon as the weather is warmer I put the colourful dresses in and store my jumpers under my bed. Point is everything pretty much matches.

I think of whatever we use daily as another part of our capsule wardrobe, so for me that includes boring things like shopping totes. I have one from Susan Bijl (from Rotterdam, but they have a great website) that has made every outfit pop more and looks as good now after two years of daily use as it did when I bought it. The colours are incredible and they are now making some metallics too that I'm considering for a second bag. I keep my wardrobe pretty capsule sized, so I found a great tote a cost-effective way for me to inject some bold colour and fun (cost per wear is probably 3c (Euro) already).

I wish I could do jeans but I can't wear them any more. Because I have painful bladder syndrome. I just find them way too tight in the crotch. I had this aha moment when decluttering my wardrobe today. I wanted something to wear over a thin strapped long yellow dress. I have this long jacket that has several colours on including yellow. It was the perfect solution and I've never worn it, now I will. I'm learning allot from your videos.

Lightbulb moment....I lived my whole life in ski pants/skinny leggings/ski boots/moon boots. I never had the "flare" jean moment. It totally missed me. When I put hip hugger/wide flare jeans with kitten heels I feel like giggling....It's personal isn't it. With so many "methods" of wearing jeans it's is whatever makes you feel modern and fun!!! I adore Trinny and her wardrobe, and absolutely love closet confessions, but I am 5’3” also (and 80% of my wardrobe is black!). I do, think, though, that you can make some of the concepts work for you. For example, I find that cropped flare pants and jeans look great on me, with platform sneakers, Chelsea boots or kitten heels (Zara has an awesome cropped flare jean for $39.90); you can choose the same pieces Trinny has chosen, but in the cuts and fits that flatter you.

Hi Trinny! I'm in a bit of a style dilemma. I am 61. I have some very nice clothes but I have to travel 2 hours in my car to the city which is where I would wear them. I want to look good (and as fresh as possible) when I get there but I always look like a wrinkled badger coming out of a cave. I also work nightshifts which makes me look a bit like the walking dead sadly. Any advice?
