Judging by most of the comments... no one here else has actually started and ran a window cleaning business.. its not as easy and wildly scalable as they are claiming here. Used to dig her content but man, so . much. cap. You have to scratch, crawl, beg your way to keep a full calendar cleaning glass. Yes its good revenue when the schedule is full, but you'll be selling non-stop 7 days a week to keep a full book. You'll spend stupid money marketing. Most window cleaners will average 85-115 per man hour worked ( key word worked), take out drive time, setup/tear downs, etc. Eateries (chilis', Applebees, chickfila type places are 40-50 bucks per cleaning. How long do you think it really takes to clean one of those? Hint: its more than an hour.
Not saying there isn't decent money to be made, its not a get rich quick or easily scaleable model, just more of this hype cap hopium the gurus are pumping. Yes you can spend 100 bucks in cheap squeegees and go clean some windows today. You will NOT get a sports stadium with cheap hand tools. We passed on a few medium commercial jobs for mid rise 3-4 story buildings because their insurance requirements would have made our policy increase more than the price of the cleaning itself. 4-5k jobs because the additional insurance coverages were near $4000. Don't quit your day job folks.

So come be apart of our franchise but you will need $50,000-$150,000. Absolutely! I highly recommend you try to stick to exterior only cleaning. When you get inside is where it can get tricky. Very easy to drip on expensive carpet (especially if you have hired employees) or damage a chochkee that the old ladies like to keep on their window sills. Also, older people (whom I actually love working for) can get very talkative and make it really difficult for you to get in and out. And God help you if you have a 3 story interior window or skylight that they insist on having cleaned (especially when the sun comes through that window at sunrise or sunset and you left a streak that can only be seen when the sun comes through the window, but you have an OCD customer that makes you come back out and reclean it for free…

Something people NEED to realize about this is that the window cleaning itself is not the success story. Anyone can start a window cleaning service, earning $200,000 has nothing to do with the service itself. It's all about the marketing side of it. If someone offers the best window cleaning service around but isn't savvy with business or marketing, they will not do very well and possibly even fail before the first year. Although the title is quite misleading with the $153 startup cost, they go over some branding and marketing in this video, so they are pretty transparent about it which is more than I can say for a lot of these videos that show a small, basic, service business making 6 figures in its first year or two so props to them for that. 👍

I love this! Learning how to actually run the biz i.e. dealing with employees, contracts, administration, etc. is the real part of running a biz that is the part I want to learn. Do you go into this part of running a biz?
