  • Snake exercises are really good to help build leg strength and more flexibility in hip joints and lower spine. Kevin likes to introduce these a couple of classes before he teaches move 75 "Creeping Low Like A Snake".
When doing the move "Creeping Low Like A Snake", be careful not to slide your foot out too far. You want to have a nice relaxed transition so you can transfer the weight from the back leg into the front leg and push up nice and gentle.
Watch this video for help in developing your snake routine.

      Hi Chantal,
That's great! Mr. Moy highly recommended snakes as part of regular practice, especially for seniors. Let us know how it goes in class.
      Cheers

      Salut Chantal,

Learning to come out of it, I remember turning out the foot of the stretched leg from the ankle... What a disaster for balance! Then, someone wiser than I in Montreal taught me how to "roll" the whole leg from the thigh. The foot turns out as a mere consequence of the opening up at the thigh. Wow! What a difference.

      Hi Guy,
Yes, you got it! Just turning out the foot can cause the knee to twist where as opening at the hip joint keeps the knee lined up with the foot and allows you to get the weight into the left foot so you can push up. Thanks for sharing!
      Cheers
