This song completely captures this phrase I heard the Holy Spirit speak in a place of prayer a year or so ago…which was that, “Revival without Repentance is Religious”. I call it the 3 R rule. If we ask God for revival then tomorrow we go back to our same cycle of sins, what good is that? It’s vain and empty powerless religion then. I am sensing that so many new worship songs are coming out now about the fear of God, Resurrender, repentance, and etc. God won’t pour out revival until we turn to Him in repentance again and again - it’s the same concept in Old Testament and New Testament. When the fear of God first came into my life, it was the point where I was most aware of His close proximity and it felt so so good to be so so close to Him. I didn't want to do anything that will grieve or hurt my Lord. I didn't want to sin knowing that sin separates me from Him. I just want to continue living ever close to my God and King. If you read Isaiah 6, which is about Isaiah’s cleansing and call from the Lord, HE saw the Lord High and Lifted up and he was able to see his need for the Lord’s cleansing.
