Szobo quietly was the best player on the pitch. 91% passing accuracy, 3 big chances created, 1 assist (should've been 3), lead the press, covered for Trent at RB, played number 10, covered for Mo on the wing when he drifted inside, broke through the Ipswich press multiple times along with Ryan. All of this while running around the pitch more than everyone for 90+ minutes and being the first man back on every counter attack. We have a World Cup Winner in our midfield, but whenever Szobo is 100% fit, he looks miles ahead of him too. He is a Rolls Royce, all we have to do is keep him fit.
Looking at how practical Slot is, I hope he realized this. Last season we make the mistake to try to push him to play every game. Hope he will be rotate once after few game.
His weight of pass on through balls was perfect. Makes sense that City wanted him to replace KDB.

The craziest thing about this game was the half time sub. Tears in my eyes Slot is proactive when it´s needed. I will always love Jurgen but one of my biggest frustrations with him last year was his unwillingness to make proactive subs that changed the game before we conceded first.

Same here mate, I love klopp, but he always hesitates to change players when the players on the pitch dont play well. Thats why sometimes its best to keep some distance between a manager and the players. That is just professionalism.

A die heart Chelsea fan here but I'm such a great fan of Salah. He's a legend, period.
Salah is the man of the match for me, but Trent, Szobo and Ryan were also very good. Szobo's positioning is awesome, what areas he can move into without being followed by the opponent, this will be a big advantage during the season. It's a shame that he didn't get the assist because the Ipswitch defender got into the pass :/ + Salah missed a chance where he also provided the assist. Slot gets the most out of Szobo this season 🔥
Salah is one of the most complete winger in football history. Such an energetic player to watch and really makes football enjoyable to watch with his forward runs and independent dribbling style. It is incredible how fast and quick he still is in his 30’s. I hope he scores 20+ goals this season. Good lad he is

Salah has been a Liverpool legend for sure but I'm not confident of another 20+ goal season in all honesty. I know he scored yesterday but he is past his best. He can't take anyone on anymore and his finishing also isn't as clinical.
He should have scored another goal when he was put clean through and struck a very poor, tame shot right at the keeper. He was doing that a lot in the last third of last season and I had hoped it may be down to tiredness. He isnt as good as he was for me.

I was really impressed with Gravenberch playing the 6 today. Also how Slot made big calls like making a tactical substitution at halftime to change the game.
As an Ajax fan I tell you that in terms of talent he is a European top player. His mentality, meaning the passion with which he plays, is the bottleneck. If Slot can get him to play every game at 100%, he is a fixed starting player. And Slot may very well be the right manager for that, because he is super top.
Gravenberch is like a new signing. Never seen him play like this for club and country.
@@okaydoubleu Then you haven't watched Ajax play in 2018 and 2019, because he was regularly outstanding, played some absolutely brilliant matches, also in the CL. Gravenberch oozes talent, but is often coasting too much. If Slot can change that, which I think he can, you have an absolute top class player in your team. Also, with his talent he should be a starter for The Netherlands. The fact that he isn't yet tells the story of how he has underperformed due to playing at 80% too often.

@@okaydoubleu Respect for being honest. I wish Gravenberch plays to his full potential for you. I am a lifelong Ajax supporter, but I have always known Slot was special. He offered his services to Ajax before going to Feyenoord, but was turned down by the mismanagers at Ajax that completely destroyed the club in a few years after the latest glory years up to 2020, which I knew was the bad sign that it was. Now he is your manager and he is going to be amazing, I guarantee you, and I find it inspiring to watch him deliver at Liverpool. All the best to you.
In an interview in Hungarian, Szoboszlai said that he likes to play in this position, that is, he likes to have space in front of him. Position 10 was perfect for him! It showed in his performance.
