Shinjuku Gewalt (新宿ゲバルト) is a piko piko/angura kei band, debuted in 1998 with the single kaizou Tape (改造テープ).
Their name represents the university students that protested in the 60's at Shinjuku (Tokyo - Japan). These students violently protested over the war and alliance between Japan and United States.
The 60-ish angura reference of the members visual concept contrasts with their futuristic piko piko kei music.
