Geetika D'Rozario awesome!!! So glad you liked it 😊
I love this, I am going to make a knightmare escape room and a suicide squad one
Thank you for your time, effort and knowledge- One problem. When you click on the first clue it takes you to the Google Form with Question 1 Once that question is answered correctly the Google Form has a box titled 'Next" which allows the student to go to the next riddle without returning to the room and hunting for the clue. Did I do something wrong?
I really would like the answer to this question
Thanks for posting this easy video. I thought it was a daunting task to make this before watching the video. FYI - you can change the text box border and shading so you don't have to create a second rectangle. It will save on some time.
Thanks for the tip!
Great video! Thank you~
My pleasure!
Amazing!! Thank you
Amy Adams my pleasure! 😊
So much fun and so easy to implement and do!!
I think so too!
I love this!!!! You made it so easy I will feel like techie doing this. One question, After the child find a clue and go to the form how do they get back to the room? In other words is there a link back to the room or must they find all the clues first? (I know that was two questions. (lol)
Toni G. In section 2 of the form (and all subsequent sections), you could put a link back to the slides in the description portion of the form. So glad you are enjoying my videos! 😊
@@EZEdTech Thank you!!!
Love love love! Thank you so very much! 🤩🤩🤩
Yay!!! Thank you so much! Check out some of my other videos too!
EZ EdTech! I have been. So awesome 😎. Thank you for sharing your knowledge 🤓
@@christinasbeautymark it is my pleasure! :)
Thanks a lot. It is encouraging and motivating. i will try to do a few of them for the coming school year
raisa kamardash great! So glad it was helpful!
I really like it!
Awesome! That is great to hear!
Thanks for the detailed tutorial; it is great! Is there a reason to use the second Google Slide with the questions rather linking to the Google Form itself? Is it a stylistic choice?
Thank you for the inspiration
My pleasure!
Hey, I love your tutorials.Where did you get this escaperoom pic from?
Thanks so much! I did a web search from within slides. It’s all in the tutorial! 😊
@@EZEdTech are these pics free for commercial use?
Can you insert the clue slides as hyperlinks within the same presentation? Love the idea, btw!
You can but if they are in the same presentation, you have to be careful how you create it and share it so they don’t just see the slides or advance to them and get the clues without finding them in the picture.
I just found this and it's SO helpful! Did I understand correctly that each question is on a different Google PRESENTATION? So if I have 10 questions, I will have 10 different slide presentations? Thanks :)
Do you number your clues and have them complete them on paper first, then input into the Google Form? I'm just imagining them finding the clues in the wrong order.
Yes, that can certainly be an issue. I would recommend instructing students to do them on paper as they find them and then put all the answers in the form at the end.
Thank you so much for this tutorial! After I create something like this, how can I combine all of it together to sell as a resource on Teachers Pay Teachers?
You can make the pictures themselves link to the clues. You just have to do it from the menu rather than right there on the image.
Thanks for a wonderful tutorial! Is it possible to have 2-3 slides per clue (with different questions)?
yes you could do that! glad you enjoyed it
You can also add a border and fill to the text box so you don't have two different things for the directions.
yep! that's how i do it in my latest video on how to make a drag and drop activity!
Thanks so much! This is awesome! Question- I created one and shared it with my colleagues. In order to open up the links they have to request access. Is there a way to change this setting? Does it have to do with the Google Form? Thanks so much! :)
Eileen Steidle it sounds like it is the share settings in the slides. You have to change the share settings so anyone can view.
@@EZEdTech Thanks so much!! :)
Eileen Steidle my pleasure! 😊
I want to make my bitmoji move across the screen like yours!! Please.
Thank you for this tutorial. It was so helpful and so easy to follow. Had a quick question...do the students have to first find all the answers and then submit the answers in the google form in one shot. Can they not go one by one and in random order. For example - enter the answer for clue 3 first in the google form. I followed the steps and my form only starts from question #1
i did the form in sections so they have to answer one correctly to get to the next one. If you just set it up as a regular google form, they could put them in in the order they find them. Depending on grade level, that may be better.
Hi! Thank you SO MUCH for this tutorial! I knew it was possible to use Google Forms to make an Escape Room but not about linking it with Google Slides. I have a question - when I set up my first clue question and apply the link to the hidden object back in my presentation slide it applies, but the mini text box which pops up looks blank, unlike yours which shows the question. Where am I going wrong? It's just the pop up that looks blank but when clicked on it does take you to the slide and everything looks ok there. Thanks in advance.
Lynn Goodlad thanks so much! Glad it was helpful. I think that’s just a lag on google drive. With a little time, it should show the preview properly.
EZ EdTech! Thanks! I’ll try it again and give it more time. The kids at school will love it.
If I want to make 3 rooms, in this case should I do them in separate presentations? I tried to do all three in one presentation yet, I am not sure how to require each one to be completed prior to having access to the rest.
you can hide the other 2 slides before the students go onto the next slide.
Hi! Do I have to make a button or shape to link the clues to? Can I just link the clue to the image that I've inserted?
You can do the shape over anything - an image you inserted or just part of the background.
I keep looking at how to make the escape room is it a video that shows how it looks and works when it is being used/presented.
Could an escape room made this way with Google slides/forms be added to a Facebook group or a blog? how easy would that be to do?
Yes, it would be. Since everything is linked to the one slide, you can share it anywhere that you can share a slide! For the blog, you could embed the slide in the page. For the Facebook group, you could share the link to the slide (just make sure the share settings are on anyone with the link can view).
@@EZEdTech Thank you - i'm giving it a try.
❤❤❤
Why add shape behind text box? Why not just add white fill to text box?
Cassandra Eattock there are always multiple ways to accomplish the same thing. It comes down to personal preference, I guess!
Hi Gin I want to know how u created your own Google Classroom please give me the class code to join
Then I can complete whatever u send in the Google Classroom😊
I was 100th like!
Hi, is there any way to make a virtual escape room with Google Forms that only displays 1 question at a time? I think some students are cheating on this low stakes assignment. :(. I have sections set up so that you can only submit questions in order. However, to get a grade in Canvas, I have created a 1 question quiz. The answer to the quiz in Canvas is the answer to the last question in the virtual escape room.
WHEN YOU ASSIGN THE ESCAPE ROOM... Do you make a copy for each student?
No, you don’t need to. I post it as students can view. I show how I assign it at the end of the video.
If students can view, and they are searching around the room, does everyone else see what they are viewing at the same time?
This was so fun to do! I sent it to myself first, and when I click on it, it's not in present mode...is there a way to share it so that it fills the whole screen?
Laura Priebe so glad you enjoyed it! Here is a great tutorial from Jillian Graham about the different ways of sharing slides with students. ua-cam.com/video/JlsiISdmqpg/v-deo.html
@@EZEdTech YES!!! Perfect... this little video more than answered my question, and now the gears are turning in my head for more fun things to do!! Another question...why is it important to have the links be 1-slide presentations rather than simply slides in the same presentation?
Laura Priebe isn’t that a great video? I love it! She explains it so well. If you are using present mode, you could hide the slides and do it in one presentation. I do the separate presentations just to be really sure the students can’t find the clues inside my presentation.
@@EZEdTech Thanks so much for the tutorial - one quick question. Did you have 4 different presentations for your 4 clues?
Rachel Craig yes I did
Can i. have the picture of the one you use
are these images for commercial use?
Yes. When you do a search from within google slides, only images licensed “commercial reuse with modification” appear. That is one of the main reasons I love doing the search from within g suite!
@@EZEdTech thanks for answering. I love your channel.
What if you want answers that are not numerical?
you can choose a text response in forms instead of a number
Love this! Thank you. I have been making physical breakout boxes for a while. Time to try a digital one. Wondering if I could link to another room on the Google form if they answer the clue correctly? Thinking each clue would be in its own room so they would move from room to room before they escape.
