  • Let's walk around Polcenigo, a little village on the slopes of the Western Carnic Pre-Alps, a few kilometres away from Pordenone, in Friuli Venezia Giulia.
This enchanting little town is surrounded by lush nature and crossed by the Livenza River.
With its colourful houses, wooden bridges and narrow stone streets, Polcenigo is the perfect place to lose yourself for a while.
A must see is the Castle from which you can admire the beautiful panorama of the valley.
After passing the Church of San Giacomo, you will reach the top of the hill that dominates Polcenigo, where the Castle stands.
The Castle was built in the Middle Ages as a fortress, but due to a bad fire it was completely destroyed and then rebuilt in the 18th century in the style of a Venetian villa.
Polcenigo is home to the enchanting Gorgazzo Spring, if you come visit you can't miss it!
The Sorgente del Gorgazzo is a deep blue body of water that originates from an underground cave, one of the deepest in Europe.
You might be able to see through its crystal-clear waters a statue of Christ that stands at the entrance to the cavity, over nine meters deep in the spring.
