“There’s something about the way she sings”.
You got that right, brother. Amazing.

A few things. One, Brittney is one of the few singers to put a smile on my face no matter the day I'm having. Second, the first time I heard this song, I got serious Matrix Revolutions vibes. Third, this band are complete D&D nerds -- and I love how they created two concept albums that tell an entire story. Fourth, every member of this band is insanely talented -- which is a rarity not just in music in general, but in metal.

Apex and Abyss albums are just unreal. Great music an interesting story. Definitely have to check them out in full some time.

Have you heard Star One's Fate Of Man track Ryan?. Brittney on vocals and a Michael Romeo guitar solo. Good stuff :-)

You said it. Or wrote it. Epic. - I did note the key changes and was waiting for comment. Well handled.

There's a neat video of Brittney singing opera out there in UA-cam land somewhere. She kills that too. There are also videos on their official channel where she explains the story that the past two albums (Apex/Abyss) tell. She goes song by song.

Ryan you are so right. We are so fortunate to have so many great female fronted groups around at the moment, not just the ones you mentioned. ❤️🤘🎸🇦🇺

I love this song! Such a great journey and every part is awesome. The lyrics, while telling a good story also hit home. Definitely helps me get motivated and pull my ass out of holes of depression I sometimes fall into. I was really excited when I got the notification that you did this song. I started watching it at work, but gonna have to give it a better view at home.

Checked it out at home. Glad you're digging UTA! I mean anyone that loves Band-Maid and UTA has great taste in music in my opinion. I've also discovered some awesome stuff checking out your reactions to stuff I haven't heard before. Keep on rocking! Can't go wrong with more UTA.

So happy I finally stumbled across this band in the last couple the years. I missed them on the last tour and can’t wait to see them live.
    Next song recommendation: Apex

I introduced this band to my cardiologist, he also loves it, of course having a cardiologist would somehow suggest I shouldn't listen to this music lol, however I feel the music I listen to now makes me stronger, thanks to UA-camrs like yourself who support these band's that would certainly never get any kind of airtime in Portland Oregon I have been able to stumble upon such incredible artists that just crush it every time.

The gritty vocals are from Grant - Brittany records with layers of herself in harmonics and mixes it - but sometimes both guitarists, Grant and Andrew, do clean backups, especially live

Speaking of reading the lyrics like a book.
That's pretty much what I did. After discovering them when I saw a reaction to Awakening and being totally blown away and then learning it was the first track of a concept album and that the followup to the album had just released I decided to buy both records and avoid listening to any more songs from those albums before I could put them on the record player and sit down with a nice glass of rum in one hand and the lyric sheets in the other and just follow along with the story of the Immortal. One of the most epic music listening experiences I've had 😁

Was really hoping that you’d react to this song eventually, glad you obviously enjoyed it. This is one of the few songs I’ve ever heard that truly can be described as “epic”, it’s just so good. I’ve heard it at least 50 times, and I still get goosebumps. Unleash the Archers just brings an unbeatable combination of smart songwriting, awesome musicianship (seriously, they’re all so damn good at playing their instruments it’s not fair), and Brittney Slayes’ amazing vocals. If you’re looking for more UTA to listen to, anything and everything off the two concept albums (Apex and Abyss) is great. If you want to go a little older, “Tonight We Ride” is probably the song that shows off Brittney’s insane vocal range the best.
The band Trivium is another band you might want to check out if you’ve never heard them. They’re a metal band with a mix of clean/unclean vocals and great musicians that’s probably right up your alley. My personal favorite song of theirs is “Beyond Oblivion”, but anything post 2017 they’ve done is great.

IMMORTAL IS MORE THAN A NAME!
THE WIND THAT SHAPES THE LAND
    Somehow I find myself
Standing on the edge of something that I desperately need
From this moment I will not be the same
No more crying for the things I can't change
Here I will put this tale to rest
Finish what I started long ago
And though it may not be the ending I wish
Only victory can bring me home
    Come
    I won't wait for long
I was never your slave for all eternity
And now here we stand face to face
    Feel the ground
    Crashing all around
    Fight to fan the flame
    Ignite the battle rage
    Tear the sky
    Watch the boulders fly
    As the mountain scape
    Crumbles in her wake
So, you've come to prove yourself
    Despite the lies you tell
    You know you won't prevail
And I, most powerful of all
Have come to see you fall
    You'll find no mercy here
Search within, uncover the will to win
Turn against the tide that washes o'er
Find the strength to fall and rise again
Open up the gates, unleash the force
I am the wind that shapes the land
Old as time and twice as strong
    Oceans arise at my command
    I alone can carry on
    To break her chains
Forward I push on into the storm surrounding me
    I await her strike
Could it be she's reached the pinnacle now?
Silence as I stand within the eye
In this hurricane of her design
And watch as I drain the light from inside
Now at last I see what must be done and so I fly
Firm within my grasp I hold the spark and shatter it
    See her eyes go dark
Could it be I've finally won the war now?
I see the clouds are gone
The storm that raged is quiet once again
    I feel the stars above
Shining on the fragments that remain
Search within, uncover the will to win
Turn against the tide that washes o'er
Find the strength to fall and rise again
Open up the gates, unleash the force
I am the wind that shapes the land
Old as time and twice as strong
    Oceans arise at my command
    I alone can carry on
    No
    What is this I see?
    Broken before me
Once again I pay the price
    I've nothing without sacrifice

the D&D/RPG nerd in me loves the 2 concept albums Apex and Abyss. Good group of Canadians from Vancouver, last year they won a Juno (Canada's equivalent to the Grammy) for this album. It was really big deal for them to get a bit of mainstream recognition. They also don't block reactors, love the fans they get from people doing reactions.
I agree with what you said about Power Metal, I am not a huge metal head, usually power metal doesn't do it for me. But this band is the exception to the rule.

Grant Truesdell handles the growls. Best place to actually see that is in the Awakening MV.

You're dead on about the Harsh Vocals being the bad guy and them not just doing it to do it!! In fact.... the 1st 4 tracks of this album have no harsh vocals on purpose because the antagonist (The Matriarch) hasnt shown up yet. Btw a YEAR ago I posted this on "Yours is an Empty Hope" reaction
Also, has anyone suggested Unleash The Archers to you yet?? Start with Awakening and you'll be hooked ^_^
    you responded with
Nope, no one suggested that....uh oh
