      Thank you brother! I really appreciate that! I think it’s so important to check out what others are doing! I’ve watched your vids too when our products have crossed paths! That’s how Carl from Techful Goodies got together with me and Corey from Freaky Tech Reviews. Carl does Temu videos and I had done a lot as well so we eventually connected and started just sharing info and brainstorming! We’ll have to connect as well! I’m gonna go find you on IG

      NP. I was initially concerned that MV7+ didn't have the gain control on the mic like the MV7 has. But after watching your vid. I see that I need not worry as the Auto Gain does an excellent job.

      It’s really solid!! Shure seems to always crush it! They have a new motiv mic releasing more on the content creator mobility side and I want to try it. I hope they send that one too. I’ve bought my other three, not cheap, but always perform well!

    Wow after all these years they finally come out with USB C, better late than never. Still wished they removed the brand logo on the side. I would still think it still has the bad plosives from the old model.

    • @CoZChristopher
      @CoZChristopher  2 місяці тому +1

      I don’t have the old model for reference! I’m gonna test it a bit more as I only has about a week to get this ready. But, I want to test plosives USB vs XLR as I checked the new “Popper Stopper” feature while on USB in MOTIV Mix. I want to confirm it’s present and an option under XLR only or if that’s strictly part of the DSP within the USB functionality.

    Great video! I am hesitating between Shure MV7+ AND SM7dB + interface shure MVX2U (to make it USB). Which one would you recommend? I have no gears and want to do video podcasting/ youtube interviews with remote guest using Riverside. I want to keep it simple but with good sound. Does the MV7+ requires an interface or amp boost to sound good? Thank you!

    • @CoZChristopher
      @CoZChristopher  Місяць тому +1

      I think the MV7+ will do the job. The SM7dB to me is a “better” microphone. But the MV7+ has better connectivity when it comes to a podcast. I mean, you can connect the MV7+ directly to an iPhone 15 and use the MOTIV Video app to record your podcast. I’m going to test it soon for riverside on the cell phone as well. It sounds great with USB only. I used it recently on our new podcast as well and it’s good! I’m doing a direct comparison soon if you can wait, but if not, my initial thought is the MV7+ has more versatility even though I think the SM7dB is better. I’d steer toward MV7+

      @@CoZChristopher Wow! Thank you for the comprehensive answer. The connectivity and portability is indeed important and create more opportunity to record with a minimum setup. I would love to see your comparaison. I've been scoring youtube and no one has done one yet and these 2 new products are the big question mark. I ended up ordering both to see what works best for a beginner podcaster like myself. The least headache, ease of use and better sound right off the bat will win. Thank you for your advice and looking forward to watch your next video.

    any idea why my MV7+ picks up like me clicking my keyboard and things like that when im gaming?

    • @CoZChristopher
      @CoZChristopher  Місяць тому

      There are a lot of factors regarding ambient noise in the room. However with this being a dynamic microphone, it should not actively pick that up loudly unless the keyboard is positioned in front of the microphone capsule. like if you have your keyboard in front of the microphone, if that is the case then the keyboard would be within the microphones pickup pattern(vicinity). If it is not that and your mic is not directly in front of your keyboard, I'm guessing to check your "autogain" setings. See if changing that to a set gain will diminish the noise from your keyboard. Dynamic microphones should "limit" ambient noise in the environment and this mic while on USB mode has a lot of features to help with this, but if the keyboard is directly in the path of the capsule it is now an "active" sound subject. ie. this video here where I used the MV7+ to soundtest a keyboard: ua-cam.com/video/agRphhi8KIE/v-deo.html

    • @-Vicar
      @-Vicar Місяць тому

      @@CoZChristopher Yeh my mic arm is like to the right and then the keyboard is like far left down below this is my first proper microphone i normally have only ever used a head like astro and things like that i will try the gain thing and see if i can figure it out thank you.

    • @gregm1855
      @gregm1855 Місяць тому

      @@-Vicar I have had issues with this in the past on different mics. You could try and adjust the gain manually. Ideally lower gain would be better. Signal to noise ratio is important. Normally if you had the mic close to your mouth your voice should in a sense drown out any keyboard clicking. Does the clicking happen while you aren’t talking ? While you are talking ? Or both ? Another solution you could trying is to used O Rings under the keycaps to help dampen the sound of the keys.

    Why is the MV7+ pointed downward in your tests?

    • @CoZChristopher
      @CoZChristopher  2 місяці тому +1

      It's the way that I was sitting in comparison to all three mics and the fact that it was first in front of my camera. I wanted to make sure the tip of the SM7dB was visible. It was a hard shot to take while my camera was on the desk mount and I had limited time to create the video. But I was within the recommended range of the microphones to test them accurately. I also used that mic for all voiceover work throughout the video as well as the review coming out tomorrow on the Gamakay TK75-HE Magnetic keyboard. So there is a lot of sample audio to be heard to validate it's sound across this video and the next :)

    • @CoZChristopher
      @CoZChristopher  2 місяці тому

      I used both XLR and USB on this review. But most of it was USB. Especially when showing the software that was all USB. If you want to go XLR, you’ll need an Audio Interface to go with it. Make sure to take into consideration what types of speakers you have to make sure the audio connection is an easy fit for the audio interface, but USB works well on this mic without it.
