when the beat changed on nightmare on the north side 2 the amount of times the video switched to Mr.2K saying “NORTHSIDE” while dancing is the funniest thing i’ve seen all day 😭😭

New glock 4 my opps was easily my favorite with all the other rage ones being close to the top as well. I would love it if scrim did a full rage album with transitions & everything cause it really feels like those beats fit the sound he goes for on his solo stuff much better. I get that people love the nightmare on the northside sound a lot but at this point I have heard it hundreds of times from the $B songs that I dont want that from scrims solo stuff. I appreciate the different routes he goes for with his solo songs that sets them apart from the normal $B sound. Imo way better than his first album but I agree that some of the ending tracks felt weak aside from die4me

This album is definitely a grower. When I first heard it I wasn’t a huge fan of the Carti vibe and it felt repetitive at some point… but right on the second listen I’m really enjoying it and now I listen to the whole thing almost every day.

album was clearly stated to not be anything $b related. He’s been clear about his solo music. Also sounds very hypocritical saying that fans suck for not growing with the Boy$ but then say the album has not energy and want more tracks like NOTN2. This should definitely be a re-listen, listen to the lyrics and read his story.
personally i dont really mind the auto tune on certain songs although its definetly a lot different from the usual but my fav track is 100% 1800-pain ive been listening to it on repeat since the album came out. im just a sucker for that slower stuff
This is what the album should have consisted of- Maserati Slick, Who saves the Savior, Demo Demon, Lonely Boy, Don't Know Why, Blam, North Pontchartrain Blues, Paradise, A Man Touched the Sky, Nighmare on The Northside 2, Chrome Cowboy, 1800 Pain, I think this would have been the perfect mix of the hype up beat songs and the slower more chill vibe on the Album, these were the ones that really stood out at least to me and if the album was cut to these 12 it would have felt cohesive without all the extra fat.

I disagree with your takes on the second half of the album, maybe 1-2 fillers max. I also thought the lyrics were generally solid and thought the “less energetic” songs were perfectly fine. Scrim was just making shit he liked on this album and I enjoyed damn near all of it

I agree with you on the projects length to a extent, I feel like it's a huge breath of fresh air in this realm of music cause short form content I feel has too much of an influence on this side of rap/hip hop.

even though its a long album, when you sit down and watch the lyric videos and really study these songs, they all become favorites. he also freestyles 99% of the album. he added a chorus to a lot of songs which is soo new from him and could really take him places in terms of stream numbers in the future. i feel like with this album, he has opened the door to a brand new scrim either music. its going to be a good good growing period for him as a person, and this new $uicideboys album thats coming im sure will have some similar sounds. in a time where people don’t even write their own songs and can’t make them more than 3 minutes long, and we get 26 songs of full on magical sounds, its a blessing we’ll be thankful for once we have had the time to digest everything. i wish there was more lyrically, BUT again he said this is the first time he just went full in on freestyle, which makes me like it more. been watching you react to them for years now. yes the music has changed but thats what is so beautiful about it. you can see he is in a happier place than what he used to be. he stated on insta live he’s tired of the dark energy vibe with songs. and rightfully so. he isn’t in that dark headspace anymore. but i agree with your points, to an extent

This is my favorite album of all time, it came out in 2005, and still hits just as hard nowadays, its genuinely the most beautiful and hypnotizing thing to listen to at least to me, just a recommendation if you are curious to check out any new shit in that genre

the direct yeat reference is in insane. it's cool to hear but overall disappointing he couldn't be more creative. same subject matter, same presets, same beats, and copy and pasted yeat adlibs. i think at one point he even shouts out yeat. again this was interesting to listen to but i think long term biting yeat's sound is not going to do him any good.

This album is a fun listen to but it just didn’t hit for me. Totally cool if others enjoyed but just wasn’t for me. I can only handle the auto tune so much and it feels kinda overdone. I’m here for the cowboy $crim era though.
agree with a lot of your comments. i’ve seen a lot of people comment how he freestyled the whole album, and unfortunately i can tell lol. i think he wanted there to be a concept, but its lost on me as he doesn’t do much storytelling, and the lyrics are painfully straightforward. it works on emotional songs, but i can only listen to him brag about how he got his girl a boobjob so many times.
I agree too. I came into this album thinking he's trying to make a masterpiece but watching his ig live where he says some of the songs are meant to just be fun and not mean shit, he didnt write bars for this album like he would in a SB album, and its meant to just act as an outlet for what he wants to do, for me it made more sense of the album as Scrim can do even better if he wants.
