I have been following y’all since my junior yr and I will be starting at Berkeley Law in August 2020 ! Seriously understand that you both have demystified the law school experience for black women like myself . As a first generation law student this channel has made all the difference. A lot of my anxiety is reduced when I watch y’all’s videos. Sending y’all a huge THANK YOU and virtual hugs. Super excited for law school ready for the challenge.
I was having a ruff day, and this comment really turned it around for me! Thank You so much, congratulations, and good luck at Berkeley!! One of my Spelman sisters just graduated and she seemed to have had a great experience. I hope you will as well! Sending back virtual hugs and positive vibes. 🤗-Sam
This video made me sooo happy!!! I'm excited I found this channel bc I've been seriously considering law school recently. I just want to make sure that I can see more ppl who look like me who know the ins and out of what it takes to thrive while in law school, especially at the Ivy setting. God bless you ladies! #ISubscribed
Omg!!!! Ya’ll are so lit! I’ve been looking for videos with Black women talking about their law experience! I love ya’ll already! I hope you guys are still doing well! #MelaninMagic
I am preparing to take the LSAT and I've been all over the internet doing as much research as possible, I'm nervous but finding y'all's page makes me feel a little more confident! Thank you!
Have been watching your videos for months and just got in Columbia Law a few days ago!!! So excited! Can’t wait to get it started! Thank you sooooo much for all your advice ~
the cool thing about being a minority at a PWI means that you're kinda automatically friends with the other black people in your classes, at least for me at UGA (undergrad). Columbia Law is a dream :) Subscribed xx
After just a week? lol. Good Luck with your first semester. If you are familiar with Morgan (3L) or Shannon (1L) -sorry for the lack of last names lol- tell them I said hey! - Sam
My school has a midterm and final also makes previous exams available to study. Do you think prev year exams are a good thing to use when making outlines?
Hi , I really love this channel . Lately I’ve been thinking about law school I’m only a sophomore in college Rn but I love to be prepared and I wanted to know what to expect lol I’ve been binge watching law student blogs and everyone is different. I honestly just wanted to know how difficult the assignments and work is in law school I have a great work ethic but I’m Afraid the work may be to hard for me to understand or handle .
I don't personally find the work difficult, there is just a lot of reading and a lot to remember. But the actual concepts, in my opinion, are not hard to understand. -Angel
Hi! I love your videos! How many classes does a 1L take in a term and in 1 year? For example, in 1 year would you take 7 classes? And then in 1 term take 4 courses (torts, crim, contracts, constitutional) and then second semester take completely different courses? Thanks!
I like this channel. Brings alot of youth and happiness to it. I am about to take my LSAT in a week and I am very nervous. How was your test anxiety or if there were any? What were your scores?
Good luck!! I don't typically get testing anxiety, but if you've studied and prepared your hardest I think the most comforting thing to tell yourself at this point is that you've given it your all. Sam and I don't tell our test scores, but we are happy to offer general advice. -Angel
🤣🤣 love y’all energy!! I’m thinking about law school after I graduate with my B.S. I’m nervous about the curve grade it sounds crazy! Also the final testing stuff scares me because aside from studying I use test/midterms to track how I’m doing thus far... eeep lol #newsubbie #keepupthework
Hey ! I am a first time mom and a recent college graduate. I am entertaining the idea of attending law school but nervous about the stress that comes . Do you think you would’ve completed your first year of law school if you were a parent ? Please I need feedback because I have a bit of anxiety.
Although neither one of us are parents, several of our classmates are. One woman in our section had a child during 1L and we have another friend who is currently pregnant. I can't speak personally on what it's like but hopefully the fact that many parents are making it work lessens your anxiety. --Angel
Having Sam helped me a lot, both academically and personally. People focus a lot on the academic side of 1L, but a lot of people struggle with loneliness that year too. Just reading cases and studying all the time can be isolating so having someone to not only hold you accountable academically but also talk to about the struggles of the year helps a lot.
Love from India. Can you guys tell me something about career statistics in American law schools and how will it turn out for a foreigner to study law in America?
Hi! The American Bar Association posts career statistics every year. Here's the link www.americanbar.org/groups/legal_education/resources/statistics/ Unfortunately, we're not very familiar with the law school experience for foreigners.
Z. JF I didn’t. Surprisingly black issues rarely came up in my section. When they did there were black students and a few non black students that would comment so I never felt like I had to speak on every issue. -Angel
Love this channel! Black women in law school, intelligent, great personalities, and giving great advice ✊🏾
Thank you!!

Aww Angel you have the same birthday as my sister!
I guess I won't be forgetting your sister's b day either lol
- Sam
I get anxiety just knowing how stressful law school is. 😢
This is what I was looking for...in addition to Kameron Monet. 🥰🥰🥰
Nesha B. Same girl! They are awesome. And kameron as well 🥰🖤✨✨✨✨

Hey guys, would going to office hours change the aspect of not knowing what you'll be graded on when it comes to tests/finals? Thanks.
Lmaooo aye she has the exact same birthday as me 😂
Did you both talk about your grades with each other or decide to not talk about it?
I read that Yale does not rank students....do you know if they have a different system?
🤣🤣 love y’all energy!! I’m thinking about law school after I graduate with my B.S. I’m nervous about the curve grade it sounds crazy! Also the final testing stuff scares me because aside from studying I use test/midterms to track how I’m doing thus far... eeep lol #newsubbie #keepupthework
Thank you!! And I completely understand, those are normal concerns to have before law school. Just know that its possible to adapt! --Angel
what age did you guys enter law school at?
22

thank you so much!!!!
How did you guys do on the lsat and gpa wise if you don’t mind me asking? Columbia is my dream law school
Hi! Although we don't disclose our personal GPAs and LSAT, the averages for law schools are online.
what school did y'all attend??
Columbia
November 16 birthday twins
Lots of good advice I made so many notes
We're happy we could help!
In my first semester and I’m tired.
We remember the feeling. Hang in there!
What helped you be successful in completing your 1L
Having Sam helped me a lot, both academically and personally. People focus a lot on the academic side of 1L, but a lot of people struggle with loneliness that year too. what did you ladies major in in undergrad because im struggling
Sam majored in political science and I majored in economics. Hang in there! -Angel
What happens when you fail the finals ?
That's a great question. At some schools you may get kicked out of school. I'm actually not sure what happens at Columbia.
Y’all tight lol so the first year is basically like AVID lol
Wow I want to be their friends
#gunnerbingo 😂😂🤣🤣

Loved your video, but the volume of the music in the background should be lower! 😊
Thanks for that! We'll pay more attention to the volume of our background music next time.
Did you all experience having to speak up on all black issues in the class?
Z. JF I didn’t. Surprisingly black issues rarely came up in my section. When they did there were black students and a few non black students that would comment so I never felt like I had to speak on every issue. -Angel
@@Sistersinlaw thats interesting. good to hear that you didnt feel that pressure
Angel is so pretty but she doesn't need that weave. take it off sister please
