I thought I would be good at camera confidence and then I delayed recording for a month because I don't have camera confidence so now here I am :P I so appreciate your help!!
Love this video, I’m part of a talk to camera group/course and this short video is almost better than the entire course. I thought this was really good information, so thank you. Subscribed to your channel, can’t wait to see more
This is one of the best comments I've ever received. I literally took a screenshot of it for me to look at later, when I'm feeling down about my content. I really, really appreciate it Steven
watched a few of your videos and and will probably all of them when i get time lol. just wanna say good job! just hearing someone else talk about all this helps. i seen your most recent video did amazing and i hope its all up from here for you!
Your content is all so amazingly impressive and good that it doesn't surprise me that you script every line. That includes how detailed and informative and lacking filler or wasted time the videos are. You're very skilled at the art of performing the script so it sounds natural though and it doesn’t surprise me in part because I'm exactly like you. The bullet method isn't that helpful for me when i try it. It's hard for me to be a presenter at a conference, Podcaster, etc with even only the bullet points. I like to make sure i have the exact words. I'm about to start my first UA-cam channel DND I've only recorded videos of myself a small handful of times before and never with the intention to share them that widely. I did find it weirdly hard especially since multiple times i had intensely short time constraints. I appreciate all this advice and am gonna really take it to heart
Thank you so very much for the amazing tips you give to new UA-camrs like myself :) I love your tone ,it is very friendly and also the way you enunciate and explain things is so super user friendly :) Many many thanks !
Just wanted to add my 2 cents and say this video and this channel as a whole are giving me so many good tips and insights to grow my own channel and hopefully be monetized as well. I’m not in the same genre as you and I know it’s gonna be a struggle for me with lack of quality hardware and having to grow in a semi-saturated yet limited niche but these tips have helped give me greater confidence. Hopefully couple months down the line I can come back here and show much greater success with the things I’ve learned here. Much appreciated Aprilynne
I don’t think I want to be a content creator but I think the psychology that goes into it is interesting. BTW I would also script everything if I had to choose lol you don’t sound like you’re reading from a script
I’m starting a UA-cam channel and seriously struggle with camera confidence and how to plan out a video/script etc. I’ve watched lots of videos on the subject and yours had so many helpful ideas that I’ve never heard before, in any other UA-cam videos. Can you please make videos about scripting and storytelling?
I agree writing the script in the same mannerisms as I talk works best as you mention in video. I need to work at freestyle as well, but scripting with prompter works best for me.
I tried for the first time filming myself and it was the most nerve wrecking experience thank you for this video! I felt I didn’t knew any English at all but I had one of the highest grades on Ielts I also tried in my native language and it was the same so I guess is my nerves??? I will try to name my camera like you said to see if I feel less awkward speaking to nowhere 😅😂
Wow, totally doesn't feel like you're using a script. You are amazing at that. I'm still in the grocery store computer level, but I want to get better.
Hi Aprilynne, I love your videos! I’m curious about how you manage to follow a detailed script for videos that are 15 to 20 minutes long. It seems challenging to memorize everything. Do you record each line or paragraph separately and then edit them together? If so, you need to shoot hundreds of shots to make a 15-minute video. And how do you make it look so seamless and natural without any noticeable interruptions? I'd love to see a video where you explain your process!
Awesome content. Nice and direct. I noticed equipment listed, may I ask what software you use to edit? Slotz channel with lots of visiual competition. Thank you for what you do. 🎉
Great tips, although for tip 8, it's the exact opposite for me. I hate giving a presentation to two, three or five people - but hosting a grand ball with 500 paying attendees? No problem. Why? Because then I can "de-personalize" the whole spiel. Two, three or five people is a very intimate group where I can see all reactions. 500 people? That's a blurry mass of people that just becomes background noise to my ramblings ;-)

Love the way you explain with honesty.

So glad that was helpful! Freetalking was HUGE for me when I was first learning how to get more confident in camera
