SBT was launched by businessman Silvio Santos on 19th August 1981. The company was established after the Brazilian Federal Government wanted to form two new networks, which resulted in the closures of Rede Tupi and Excelsior. SBT remains one of Brazil's most popular networks since its launch. My next logo (ident) history video will look at RedeTV! (formerly Rede Manchete) and I will go back to making logo histories on home entertainment companies after, starting with Contender Entertainment Group.
