I’m here from Tik Tok !! 😂
Same!😂 I see these every year on vacation, but after seeing the tik tok I wanted to see if anyone has made any new videos about them! They’re so interesting!
Same. I feel sorry for those who put in long hours and money into this project(aka scam)and were undoubtedly cheated. Wondering if the land is tied up in the court system.
A huge thank you to everyone who found this video through TikTok!! We hope you will check out some of our other videos. We go to some pretty amazing abandoned places! We appreciate your support, so if you like videos like this one, we would love for you to comment, share and subscribe!!
You should definitely do this on tik tok, you would be famous for sure
@@willtrevena2ndaccount418 We hear a lot about TikTok, but don't know much about it... maybe we should give it a try. We don't really know how to get started...lol. And... thank you so much!
I pass those all the time and always wanted to see them thanks you soooooooooooo much 🙏💕
I don't know who owns the property now but they could make money renting this place out as a movie set for zombie movies or post-apocalyptic movies.
Jim Gottberg that is a great point! It would be a great set for a movie! :)
I don't see how this would fit into a zombie move and even if it did, its not like they are going to get much money for it.
They’re mansions but look so small on the inside.
Yeah, I'm curious about what is considered a mansion. I have several people in my family who own bigger houses than these, so does that mean they have mansions?
They are duplexes meant to look like mansions from a distance. The appearance of affluence for only $1500 a month.
@@danielleprusoff4685 yes, yes it does. If your family has homes bigger than these... They have mansions
So we referred to them as "mansions" because that is what they are known as. They certainly look like mansions on the outside, but as we got closer, we could clearly see that they are duplexes. We didnt think that exploring duplexes sounded very intriguing, so we stuck with the name that they have been called before.
@@danielleprusoff4685 Houses this size are Missouri mansions (well, these are not, because they are actually 2 apartments). But yeah, here in the Midwest, mansion doesn't mean quite the same thing as what it does in California and New York.
They say that beauty is in the eye of the beholder. What may seem an eyesore to one person, just might be a beautiful masterpiece to another. There are places beloved by communities and protected in the hearts of those that hold their memories of its tattered hallways and decayed rooms dear. This is the way that we feel when we explore places that have been forgotten by time. Left to rot and decay and only holding the silent whispers of what once was. We know that there are people out there with malicious intent toward these places that we venture into. It saddens us when we see the filth and destruction they leave behind, but we want to make something very clear… We are explorers and lovers of history. We in no way, shape or form condone the criminal activities that take place in the historical decaying places that we document. Social media has brought many of these places to the limelight, but the intention is to show the beauty and mystery of abandonment. Not to invite trouble. Trouble will find its way on its own and to say that the peaceful documentation of these places leads to criminal activity, is mind blowing. We have met so many amazing fellow explorers in our travels and are so thankful and humbled by the positive responses we have received. We know that this type of exploration is not for everyone…many people don’t understand why we find such beauty in decay, we can only explain it as a beautiful journey into the past. We invite you to watch our explores and come along as we visit these amazing places. As for the criminal activity that occurs, those individuals are responsible for their own actions. It is a terrible part of our society, but reality, nonetheless. Thank you for taking the time to read this and for loving this location just as much as we do. We hope that through this video, the memories held within will remain.
Are you interested in UFO'S?
I got sent a frightening email last night...it shows a red laser beam being shot from space down to the West Coast and after it hits the ground a red glow from a fire appears!
There are pics of UFO's over the ocean and going in and out of the ocean and they're by volcanos and going in and out of them. Crazy stuff !

The movie was about meteors and a family..then one thinks of the talk about a meteor that's soposed to pass by on election day or near it...Did they say pass by or hit? I don't remember ... Maybe after the elections the movie will come back?

When I was in highschool I took a film photography class. I lived in Branson West and went to school in Branson. My art teacher asked us not to take photos of the obvious stuff around Branson. So one day on my way home from school, I spontaneously decided to pull into Indian Ridge and went exploring with my camera. I went inside a couple of the homes. Now here's the bad news-my binder full of film and developed photographs went missing. To this day, I still think about that binder and the memories of curiosity it holds. Thank you for this, it is soothing.
Also, have you visited the abandoned dinosaur park in Eureka Springs, AR? It has some spectacularly goofy sculptures.
We have not visited the dinosaur park but we will definitely check into it!
Too bad you lost your binder full of film but the good thing is that you got to experience it in person and those memories will stay with you forever!
That lumber alone would be worth more than the houses now
Right! Price for a 2x4x8 right now is almost $9 when just 1.5 years ago it was less then $3 at Lowes. It's ridiculous!!!
IF anything they should destroy them and reclaim the lumber... aka "GOLD"......
Thats what I said. Only the 2x4x10s in stairwells could really be salvaged though ss 2x4x8s. The tubs could probably be saved at 400 a piece or so.
Those garage doors are expensive too bad somebody plowed through them.
As a cabinet guy Im really surprised they didnt just go back and pick up their cabinets. Check mustve cleared on the installs lol.
Thanks for the tour I have driven by this development for years and have wondered what the properties were like inside.
kris ulandlott thank you for watching! it was crazy seeing these places just left unfinished like that! We would gladly take one! lol
In what development do you start building homes before the infrastructure? Why are the roads not already installed? Very strange
The roads were there but they just weren’t paved! It’s sad to see these places just left to rot having never had any tenants!
Yeah that's what I was thinking....roads, curbs, driveway cemented in not just paved. Doesn't make any sense to me. Why doesn't someone take the doors, windows, electrical boxes some of the wood. Lots of salvageable things there.
You apparently know nothing about development or construction. It's done this way in most developments. Generally what will be used as models are built first and started after undergrounds are in.
@@TheGardenMasterShow you’ve made a false assumption and you can not possibly judge my construction experience. Maybe where you live they build homes prior to the infrastructure but in California, no houses are built until all underground and roads are installed. In some cases, the model homes might go up at same time but usually the road will be done before the models are finished. In some counties, the roads have to be done first....
@@TheGardenMasterShow ok genius know it all. Why would you say " you apparently don't know much about development or construction". then in the same breath say "it's done this way in MOST construction"??? Hmmm....just asking a friendly simple question!

Is absolutely very beautiful area thank you for sharing
Rosa Gagliano thank you for coming along!!! We loved this beautiful area! :)
I was just scrolling down my feed and this was on my feed. Branson is my old stomping grounds, I spent my teenage years growing up and working there (about 15yrs back). When they started this place, non of the locals knew it was going to be much more than just really expensive houses. Lol It was a few years after it became abandoned that all of the locals actually learned how massive this project really was.
Hi Brittany! We actually took a looooonnnnnnggggg (LOL) walk down past the houses to the empty acres of land beyond and could see that there must have been some grand visions for a spectacular location in the works. It is too bad that it now sits empty, but perhaps one day someone will take that vision and make something amazing out of it. The views of the lake were just beautiful.
@@JMExplorations No, it is a bad site. Drainage! You have to take that into consideration.
@@JMExplorations I may or may not have driven my jeep back there before I realized it was a no trespassing state area (sign was hidden). The infrastructure is all there, big transformer boxes, sewer, etc, just overgrown now. It's so nice and peaceful out there. In Colorado that would be a great place to just go out and enjoy the peace and tranquility, but here it's all no trespassing, and looking at the vandalism, you see why.
Sad to see the state of the homes. Glad to see you made it inside a few.

We are so glad that you stopped by and watched!! It certainly was an amazing place.
I just saw on the news a Tik Tok upload that went viral. Then I see this in my feed! Very interesting and sad at the same time. I've read some of the comments below and it's very unfortunate people have to destroy things just for the sake of destroying. It boggles my mind.
How absolutely beautiful...if I had made a honest deal....what would have been nice would have been to bring the Adirondack style within...leaving some trees between..oh well with deceit comes ruin....your right...someone should be able to salvage those units...
It was a beautiful exploration. Beautiful countryside homes...sad they didnt make it to fruition...🤔🤥😔

We will talk to you soon and look for that package to arrive soon!!
These look more like big houses not mansions.Mansions are way more huge inside, these homes are not big enough inside to be mansions but they look really nice from the outside.
Hi Edwin, First of all, thank you for watching!! We did call them mansions because that is what they are known as. We could tell as we approached them that they were actually duplexes.
I think maybe when they were being built they would be what would have been considered mansions but obviously not by today's standards. I think its very interesting if you think back over the ages of how the sizes and ideas of houses grew. 😊
The houses are huge but there is no room for a yard.
This channel should get all the attention it deserves because you were one of the first to have it on UA-cam, also get you a bottle of Band-Aid wound cleanser, you can carry it in your vehicle in whenever you have a cut or injury this stuff is very helpful, it helps numb the wound and disinfect.
I could not help but think of this when seen the ladies wound on her knee.
Awww thank you! (This is Jen). I'm a nurse, so when I get cuts (which happens a lot on our explores as we get into some thorny territory sometimes) I tend to them with antibiotic cream after cleansing. This one actually gave me a scar that I still have. For me, every scar is a memory, so I don't mind too much. We love this comment and thank you so much for watching! We hope you will check out some of our other videos as well! We go to some pretty amazing places!☺️☺️
Hey J&M very interesting explore with this property. The history behind it and seeing the land before it was fully developed was cool! One can only imagine how fancy these duplexes would be inside, plus the framing was perfect. Great explore my friends ☺️🌲

I had the impression it was more secure and harder to get into. That people in the community didn't really let ( I dunno if that's the right word) go there? They were pretty protective?
Wow
Much less impressive inside. Like a regular house. Expected higher ceilings
I (Jen) totally agree!! Most of the places we explore are unique and have cool items left behind for us to see. I was disappointed to see how bare they were on the inside....cold and unwelcoming. But the outside of the houses were so unique! Thank you for watching!!
@@JMExplorations Exactly! The outside was so regal and enticing. But yes unwelcoming is a great word for interior.

This is awesome! Interesting story behind the place too!! Marcel says hold on Just a minute, I can also do narration w the best of them haha Nice!
Nick P Was Here thank you Nick! It really was an interesting story to tell and I (Marcel) think I did a WAY better job narrating than someone else we won't mention. LOL As a matter of fact, I have now dubbed myself the Morgan Freeman/James Earl Jones of J&M Explorations!!! That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!! :)
I don't think you noticed this but from 5:12 --5:16 inside the doorway as you are approaching the doorway something moved (a shadowy creature) across that door in the shadows! Look it's so awesome to see.
We watched it back...yikes!! There was another couple there, but they were definitely far away from where we were! Thank you for letting us know. We always love when people point out things we didn't see! Thank you so much for watching!
It was the weeds in the view of the door, I watched it multiple times
I mean I see the potential they could have had they could have been stunning 😍 I however love older style homes but as I saw in your comment they are more like duplexes however imagine them as one whole home. Soo much potential
Britney M we thought the exact same thing!!! They did have so much potential for sure!
The kitchen in the house, if it would have been fully built and legal, would be an absolute NO. Everything in that house is so cramped! There's a red flag there. No wonder they didn't get away with it
I live in Branson and have seen those constantly heading out to branson west I believe, wow
I also commented on your tiktok video. I live in Branson and it's not all to crazy. They started building them and couldnt afford to finish them.
Thank you for watching. We were drawn to the story behind the why they couldn't afford to finish them. When Investors money is used for private use by developers, of course there wouldn't be any money left. It was a crime and so that is what makes it interesting.
This would make a great episode of American Greed. Developers using investor funds for their private use. Get Stacy Keach on this immediately!🤣🤣🤣
Great narration Marcel! I always love your back-stories cuz it helps me enjoy the trip so much more. This is really sad cuz organizations like Habitat for Humanity or something should be able to take them over and finish the build. Imagine the joy if they were broken up into affordable units. It could help so many homeless families! There should be something someone can do. Jen: I hope Marcel kissed your boo-boo😉 or at least helped patch u up with some triple antibiotic ointment, cuz ouch! 😖 Hugs!🤗
CarmenNY thank you! We just started trying the narration at the beginning telling the history of the location we are at. We have gotten really good feedback from everyone so we will try to keep doing it for the locations we actually have history on. It's too bad that these homes can't be used for something. I mean...why let them just sit there to rot? Marcel took very good care of my boo boo and yes he did kiss it to make it feel better! lol :)
That's a great idea but I believe (at least where I am in Canada) HFH kinda of gives people mortgages that wouldn't be able to afford one and instead if a downpayment with money your downpayment is labour. I cant imagine what the coat of a mortgage would be let alone utilities on a place this size.
Here ya go.. skipping all around me again hahaha... I need to go look this place up and pay a visit!! I'm not far from it and heading that way in a month!!
Haunted Ramblings it's definitely worth the trip!!! It's quite the amazing view when you drive up to them!

Good Day for Decay thank you! These places were so cool to see in person and what a shame that they were never even lived in!
I was just out there on Saturday.. I seen them and took a few pics.
These homes are large but so basic on the inside. They really skimped on the inside. There are literally mobile homes with fancier finishes!
Wow you can actually see where they tried cutting corners what a shame some nice homes there. 😢
Wow! That was quite a vision. Too sad it was unfulfilled ….
How did y’all start like finding places to go see this so cool I bet it’s so many abandon cool houses to go see I wanna join the team 🤣❤️
Thanks for sharing I’m having a house built about 5 miles away in Branson west I drive by these abandoned mansions many times never been in thanks for sharing, wonder why someone can’t finish the houses
Thank you so much for watching and taking the time to comment. There are many logistical and possibly political reasons why they still stand unfinished. The property is massive, so hopefully someday they will be able to turn it all around.
This is intriguing. I wonder if people whose worked on these houses in their early development stages see this and what goes through their minds.
jgotgone pretty sure that they were just construction people hired to build these by the plans and they had no idea that they were getting screwed out of their money.
Happy late birthday Marcel. Great video guys.

Wow, they should have known something was wrong when they didn't see any streets. First thing buildt is the paved streets then the electrical boxes for each lot.
Those house look salvageable! They should try to finish building them and put a road and utilities connection in. They should not tear them down.
Totally agree!! Some of them look like you could do a little work and move right in!!!
obsessed with the ugly faux-antiquing with the bricks on the outside of these. it looks like they were going for an "aged plaster over brick that’s slowly chipping off" type look. but it came out looking so tacky and cheap. and now it’s surrounded by actual age and wear and decay.
this is great. im so intrigued by the brick fascade on the outside. it seems to be falling off, but it also seems intentional. coz if it was falling down that bad, it was crappy put together in thw first place.
i dont care for developments ljke this much as i grew up in one. but thr exploring is always fun. thanks for some good shots.
also, if you know who the developers were i think you can prob find floor plans.
Amber T. thank you and we believe that the front was intentionally done like that! Looks kinda weird but somebody obviously liked it!
It amazing how different kind of architecture frm my country
There its made mostly of wooden frames
With yr 4 seasons
Doesnt wood would easily rot ?
In my country
Its mostly concrete & bricks.....
zeti akhtar mokhtarudin yes eventually wood does rot but it is usually covered with siding.
These houses are well built , not like the homes they built now , beautiful designs
How did they manage to make them look so big from the outside but actually pretty average on the inside?
Four letters....S C A M. Unfortunate for the investors. It was really surprising to see how plain they were. Even the jacuzzi we found we like...meh. Thank you for watching!
Theyre like 3+ floors though so the structures do seem fairly large, just unfinished
They're duplexes from what I can tell, plus the first floor is actually a basement with either a bridge from the street or a walkout, depending on how the building is located on the hill. I don't know what they were offered at originally, but it was waaaay too much, probably part of why no one actually bought.
@@JMExplorations there's a story that Silver Dollar City did not want this there, and had something to do with it. I know someone who knows a lot about the back story.
How come when looking at one of those home the Munster song pops into my head?😁
Im wondering how much it would cost to repaint one of those. The height of those houses and all that stone on the exterior sure would make for an extremely high paint job! $30,000-$50,000 maybe?

... so many questions! At some point I am guessing they would have went into foreclosure... no buyers? Amazing how they look so big on the outside like one huge mansion but in reality they are duplexes! Why are they so close to one another? Why are they still standing? Thanks for sharing this wonderful video! Your video has made me even more curious about the properties.
We had so many questions as well!! This whole place was full of mystery. We don't know why they haven't been taken down. It seems that they would have either done something with the property, or simply taken them down. They are what we call cookie cutter houses...houses that all look alike and are spaced close together. Some people might like the close proximity to neighbors, but as for us....give us some acreage and a house that doesn't look just like our neighbors. Thank you so much for watching and for taking the time to write such a nice comment!
@@JMExplorations that's what lends credence to the story that SDC doesn't want something there, and that the scam may have been a cover story. They can't get anyone to do anything with it.

Basic cabinetry, left over stone with stucco on exterior walls, cheap stairways. No wonder they ended up in jail. haha
That’s what I said too, all looked cheap to me and any sane person can see that.
Great video as usual be aware they are now arresting people for trespassing here. I’ve got to say this place was doomed from the get go. Too many shady people involved and they didn’t even start the development correctly, no infrastructure at all just buildings to show they were actually attempting to build a resort out of deceit.
Thank you for the kind words and for the info. This place was definitely doomed! It will be interesting to see what happens to it from here on out!
@@JMExplorations you’re welcome really enjoy your videos. Yes it will be very interesting.
They've always arrested people for trespassing... but now days.. they aren't even arresting people for crimes all the way up to attempted murder.. just catch and release, no bond.... as a police officer I know this first hand.
I stay in Springfield Mo and this is the first time ive heard of this place thats crazy. Have you ever been to Pensmore???.. or whatever that other huge mansion is called
I did two drone footage videos of Chateau Pensmore if you look that up, one before sunset and another just after with fog in the valleys
Bradley Dahlgren we haven't heard of Pensmore but we will check it out. Is it in Missouri? We live in CT but Jen's family lives in Missouri so we go out there from time to time. I am just checking it out now and OMG...it is huge! Does someone live in there or is it just a museum.....or better yet is it abandoned? lol
@@JMExplorations yes it's about halfway between Springfield and Branson, on the east side of the highway across from the Cheese store. It's definitely not vacant lol! :)
Thank you for stopping by to watch this video! We would love for you to support our channel and say hello! Happy Thanksgiving to all!
What I dont get is how they built these to begin with? The developers must have went belly up! And did anyone buy these and lose money? Wonder why no one would buy the lots to finish developing them.
We went here just after this past Christmas when we were on vacation in Branson. We didn't walk all the way down, but I wish we would've! I was excited to come across your video to see the inside of the mansions. I also didn't realize they are duplexes! Thanks for sharing ☺️
What's the location of these houses I own a low income housing company and could use the salvage to cut cost and then our company passes all savings to the customer
Me too!
Thank You for sharing. I just came across yr video. We live over by Lebanon,Mo
