- We're back at the UK Scale Nationals with my top heavy Traxxas TRX4 Defender to take on Trail 1. This year the trail had rocks, hill climbs, roots and mud and was a great challenge. Sit back, get your favourite drink and snack and see how the Traxxas TRX4 Defender does on the trail.
Before anyone says it, I know it's noisy, something isn't right with the spur to pinion mesh even though I've tried every combination on mounting holes etc! I'll sort it!
I think without the Hobbywing Fusion Pro I would have really struggled at times, as it gave me that instant wheel speed to hop over obstacles in the past I would have gotten stuck on!

@DoURC Sweet! I'll check them out. I'm not sure if you've ever dabbled in short course and just the faster truck builds at all. I'm trying to decide which way to go. Faster racing stuff or slower detailed crawlers. New to this still. Looking for good backyard action so probably more so smaller scale racing or any crawlers or like I said are there any trucks that can kind of give you both?
@mattyjbarnhart1711 Not sure there's much that will give you both tbh, as they're quite different things. Loads of options out there though. I've got quite a few crawler reviews on my Reviews playlist and a few bashers.
I would look at a website like Amain Hobbies or Modelsport and look at the options. 👍

I love my TRX4 Defender, it's just such a great all round rig.
I'll be overhauling mine soon, all new bearings, new gearbox and going to attempt to clear the windows and fit an interior with driver too. 👍😁

Do you seal up the breather holes in the rims, or do you let the foams get wet??
Ignore that, the rims I’ve purchased don’t actually have breather holes!

Roof net was from Aliexpress. Stickers from Ebay. I get a lot of little bits from Aliexpress. For bigger stuff I normally use Modelsport 👍

Awesome, I'd say add some low down weight to the front, especially if it's the Defender. Also if you're going to run it in water or mud, seal the vents on the tyres to save the foams. 👍

I bought mine from Modelsport in the UK, but it's the Traxxas Pro Scale winch kit. I've got a review of it in my Reviews playlist if you want to see more on it. Imo it's a really good kit and has taken loads of abuse. I found it worked better connecting it directly to the receiver, instead of using the separate power cable. 👍
So fascinated and curious about these trucks, are they custom made or can i buy them online like what brand or model should i look for that is as realistic as this one in the video? I tried going to online stores but they all look like childrens toys

After I'm done rebuilding my wrangler lj 4.0 6 speed im thinking of getting either a trx4 or 4m. Love the realistic lookof your setup! What kind of runtime do you get on a trail like this?

This trail took me about an hour to complete. I'm not sure how much battery was left, but with a decent lipo setup you could get a couple of hours trailing. Obviously things like weight, how you use it etc all play a part. 👍

Hey, all. I know I’m a bit late to this but, I’m going to buy my first Axial Jeep In a couple of months. I’ve started preliminary research, so I know the cost of the jeep. How much would it be to add all these extra bits? All responses appreciated!
If you search up RC Crawler Accessories you'll see lots of options. I make a lot of mine, like the roof boxes, bedrolls etc as its far cheaper. My TRX4 is brushless as well though, which is more money. It really depends what you want to do with it. I'd suggest run it first, then look at what upgrades you want to do. 👍

They're the Injora Extreme Mud Terrain tyres with their dual stage foams. 👍

So after watching this I ordered the same tyres, along with a set of heavy rims from injora, but one of my rims keep spinning inside the tyre, do you have any advice for this, do I add a drop of glue?? I have to keep taking the wheel apart to dry the bead

If you want to build one, you can get the Sport kit, otherwise buy the TRX4 ready to run. Either online or hobby shop, just Google Traxxas TRX4 👍

does anyone know if this is normal because on my trx4m bronco when I go up a rock or climb a hill my 2 back tries just stop working they don’t drive just the front 2 and solutions?
Sounds like something mechanical is broken there, as they are locked diffs. If you remove the rear diff cover, is anything broken?
@@DoURC some people are saying that the teeth inside my be broken
@user-zx7vt6ix1r Yeah could be. Could also be that the rear diff output bushing/bearing is gone, so the diff isn't always making contact with the output gear.

comps in the us are different. backing up is minus points, and it looks like there arent any gate judges to see if you touch. Just observing the video.
This wasn't a comp, just a bit of fun. There are comps at events in the UK like yours, but I just do the fun trails. 👍
